    Pick My 6 Keepers

This is a 12- Team Keeper League. Choose 6 players.
Skater Categories: G, A, P, +/-, PIM, PPP, SHP, GWG, and SOG.
Goalie Categories: GS, W, L, GAA, SV%, and SHO.

    Nicklas Backstrom (WAS - C)
    Sidney Crosby (PIT - C)
    Paul Stastny (COL - C)
    Dany Heatley (SJ - LW)
    Thomas Vanek (BUF - LW)
    Brendan Morrow (DAL - LW)
    Marian Hossa (CHI - RW)
    Bobby Ryan (ANA - LW/RW)
    Phil Kessel (TOR - RW)
    Teemu Selanne (ANA - RW)
    Sergei Gonchar (PIT - D)
    Brian Rafalski (DET - D)
    Lubomir Visnovsky (ANA - D)
    Brian Campbell (CHI - D)
    Shea Weber (NSH - D)
    Tuuka Rask (BOS - G)
    Pekka Rinne (NSH - G)
    Jaroslav Halak (StL - G)

I am think keeping 2 goalies would be useful, but I have so much talent up front I may only choose to keep one, and that guy would be probably Tuuka Rask. I see a very bright future for him.

      1) You gotta lock up 2 goalies in a league with that many managers.

      2) Left wing is the shallowest of positions to fill. There are really only a handful of legit stars on the Left wing so when you have one you lock him up

      3) When you have any player that is rated in the top three of there respective position you need to look at keeping them

With those three points in mind, I say take:
      C - Crosby
      C - Backtrom
      LW - Heatley
      LW - B.Ryan
      G - Halak
      G - Rask

With those studs that leaves you only needing to draft RW and Dman in the first 6 rounds. You're sure to find two stud RW's in the first two rounds then can start looking for Defensemen in the third round which should be early enough to snag a few offensive studs!

      Good luc

    • Crosby, Backstrom, Heatley, Ryan, Weber, Rask

    • I would go with Backstrom, Crosby, Kessel, Weber, Rask and Rinne.

      • NO LOVE for HEATER PPL...?

In my mind right now, for keepers I would go with are Crosby, Backstrom, Heatley, Ryan, Kessel and Rask. Halak and Hossa are big considerations...

Hey thanks for the Input HockeyFan! It`s not that I love Rinne it`s just that he`s a big up and coming goalie, and it just pissed me off to lose him the way I did. :P

I could probably get Weber/Rinne/Stastny as my 12th pick(1st round), since I was champ last year I get last pick. How could of I not won with that team?!
Hossa and Halak would probably be drafted earlier I am guessing.

    • Hey bud,

Considering this isn't the pool I'm in with you, here's what I'd do. 12 teams, 18 players total. That means quality starting goalies are going to be hard to come by especially if you need 2. I know you LOVE Rinne, but I'd take Rask and Halak. Rask has taken the B's # 1, Boston is going to have a good team next season, Rask will shine. We all know what Halak did in Montreal and during the regular season faced 40 or more shots on a regular basis. I think he'll do good in St. Louis.

I'd take the following 4 skaters based on overall stats. Backstrom, Crosby, Hossa and Kessel. Yes, there are an abundance of great C's but not many with the quality of Crosby and Backstrom. And RW's are the hardest players to draft, snag 2 now and you'll be laughing. I went with Hossa because he's going to roll now after winning the cup and being healthy all season will help. Kessel and the Leafs will have a bounce back year (as much as I don't want to say it) and will do much better this year. I didn't bother with D-men, because everyone of the guys you have are top D, odds are you can pick one of those guys up in the first few rounds.
