Commissioner Corner Message Board
Okay I'm a commish in a hockey league and this trade was protested right when I put the deal through. I am a participant in the deal and am currently in first. I just want peoples opinions on it.
I get Quick
I give up Vokoun
Vokoun is currently first in Save % (931) and tied for first in shutouts (with 7). Also a 2.39 GAA
Quick has a 2.50 GAA, 909 Save % and 2 shutouts.
The reason I did it was STRICTLY wins. The other person needs help in Save % and shutouts (I'm first in that).
The guy who messaged me complaining is in 2nd and this is really a deal that will probably seal the deal for me winning. I think that's why he protests but really I think the other person is getting the better goalie.
What are your thoughts?

tell the guy in second to stop being such a cry baby bitch, and i would never let the league vote, i did that one year and 90% of the trades got vetoed by stupid managers, this one guy even said straight up i'm going to veto every trade to teams that are close to me in points if the trade is improving their teams to where they will beat me in stats... like how much of a bitch can 1 person possibly be
Why would this be vetoed? My understanding is that trades should be vetoed if there is some evidence of collusion, such as one guy trading all his good players for another team's bad players, so the first guy will win. Trades should not be vetoed if they are "unfair".
how can this guy complain that you are downgrading in most deparetments to upgrade in another. who are your other goalies. are you even sure you want to do this? you might be screwing yourself out of one point every week
Perfectly fair trade to me. Quick is purely a wins goalie. He isnt gonna put up a stellar gaa or sv% or even shut outs but he does win games.
Vokoun is the opposite he faces alot of shots and keeps his team close. He wont win many but he certainly helps your gaa and sv%.
No reason to veto this. The reason i see the guy in 2nd complaining - he knows if this deal goes through he is done.
I agree with that trade. There is no reason for anyone to veto that trade. You and the other GM have the right to make trades based on your specific needs. I think you could have gotten a little more Vokoun, but that's MY opinion. Just state that to your league. A trade shouldn't be vetoed unless collusion is suspected. Hope that helps.
