    Best Category System?

Our league has always kept the usual 10 categories: G,A,+/-, PIM, PPP, SOG, W, SV%, GAA, SHO.

But this year I was thinking of making it 12 categories by adding Points and GWG (Game-winning goals)

What is everyone's thoughts on the best categories for a non-keeper, daily league?

    • GWG is a tie breaker points is meaningless with the goals and assists already there. face offs won would make it interesting and saves for goalies as well.

      • I'm with zyberian.

        Our league has G,A,+/-,PIM,PPP,SOG,FW,W,GAA,SV,SV%

FW gives more value to centres (the deepest position) and wingers that take faceoffs

GWG is fluky - don't like it

SHO aren't enough to make worthwhile - if H2H good chance of a tie

SV - adding it with SV% makes you think of which goalies to start but also make sure you start enough.

    • I like saves as a category instead of shut outs. The shut out helps the three other categories so it just gives further advantage to the teams that are able to draft elite goalies. Saves gives some value to the goalies on bad teams who sometimes for no fault of their own will have few wins and a relatively hight GAA.
