Without a doubt...SHANE DOAN!!!!! He's cute(altho Iginla is too), but more importantly, he holds that bunch of crap together...I'm VERY frustrated with this team right now. :( He get's the best out of all these youngsters too...he's also heavily involved in youth hockey at the Ice Den...

actually mike richards in philly is growing to be a great captain. he puts out 110% each game, in and out and is willing to do anything to get his team up. that could be starting a fight, blocking a shot, or even serving a penalty if need be.
at the moment though, i would have to say niklas lidstrom.

Alright ... but if you could only pick one, clone him and start him at five positions...then who

i would have to say mike richards he is the definition of a leader, and has been captain at every level, and is a proven winner,

Greats: Messier, Yzerman, Sakic.
Current: Though Iginla is having a bit of rough strech, he IS a great captain. Probably the greatest current captain. But I still have to tip my hat to Lindstrom, Richards, Saku Koivu, and I think Mikku Koivu is going to be a great captain. Look at Minnesota's record when he wears the C. For those who don't know Lemaire does a monthly Captain rotation. October and November Mikku was stellar. December he was not the captain and minnesota fell of the map. January, he picks up the C again and back come the wild into the standings.

Just saying, a great team player. That's what captains are supposed to be.
