Commissioner Corner Message Board
I am in a points only league with G (1.5pts) and A (1pt).
Do I win this trade?:
I think on paper this is a good trade for me, but I think Marleau and McDonald will have great years, while Doan and Prospal may be on the decline.
Clowe should surprise though if he gets some playing time.
What do you think?
I would do the trade. Clowe and marleau are likely to play on the same line this year and clowe will be doing more scoring there. Doan i am anticipating to have a great year on the wing playing with Jokinen and Mueller.
Prospal is likely playing with St.Lois and Lecavalier again, we already know they have great chemistry from his prior years in Tampa Bay. He is old but doesnt look like hes slowing down as quick as he should be. Doan is NOT on the decline at all with Jokinen and Mueller on his line i see him having a bigger year than last, id say at least a point a game. And clowe is just thrown in as trade bait to make it seem like your getting 3 for 3 when really its 3 for 2. Im sure there are better FAs than Clowe so take the trade anyways and drop him and get someone better.
Marleau will have an okay year but with young Pavelski coming up and showing what he can do, this could lead to Marleau having to share some ice time with the youngster who San Jose is really starting to get excited about after last years final games and playoffs. So maybe around 65 points or so for Marleau makes sense. Andy MacDonalds production in the Ducks wont apply to St.Louis as we seen last year the chemistry wasnt there with only 52 points and with Kariya on the top line you cannot have to set up men on the same line so he may see time on the second line. And Lang is on the decline for sure, he will be third line center for Montreal and wont see near as much playing time as he did in Chicago and is only there for veteran presence.
