Hey, Yahoo! We all want personal team IR's!
Excellent job, Curtis. This is probably the best stated description of what managing in fantasy sports is all about.
The test of a gm is how you manage adversity. This year, my keeper team had the following long term injuries: Stastny, Semin, Cammalleri, Weber and a few others I waived. My decision was simple: keep the guys if they were part of my long-range plan or waive them if I didn;t have the IR spots to carry the productivity loss. The ones I noted I kept despite losing production time. As a consequence, I sit 1 point out of a playoff spot going into the last week.
My choices - I live with them. The injuries - hey, it happens. No sense complaining - and I am certainly not asking that the rules be changed to fit my view of how the game 'should be played'. It seems to work well for the vast majority - I'll live with it.This topic is deleted.
To kinda chime back in with the subject, but there is one alteration I think should occur, but I do not know how. A DTD setting that allows similar to IR. For instance, I have Hossa on one of my teams and he is gonna be out for over a week and is listed as DTD. That is a minor inconvenience compared to the Richards thing, but can get annoying over the course of a year.

again though, change one thing, gotta change 'em all. Everyone deals with DTD, I had three on one team last week and I still managed a 9-2-1 week in H2H league. I had one week where all my guys were healthy and they just had a bad week and I went 0-10-2. So , roll with the punches......shit happens.
