Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
12 team H2H, Cats are: G A +/- PIM PPP SHP SOG HITS, W GAA SV% SO
These are the players I am considering (can only keep 1 goalie max):
Stamkos and Letang I'm keeping for sure unless you guys disagree, so who should the other 6 be?
LOCKS - Quick, Stamkos, Staal, Backes, and Letang.
It is far from the most talented combination in sheer Offensive numbers but Backes counts for two people in the Hits category and he will get you the PIM. You don't have to carry a dead weight "defensive" D-man to be competitive in the category.
Wildcards - Nash, Ryan, and Callahan
Call me crazy but I'm a fan of "Power" forwards. Callahan double dips the Hits category, while Ryan and Nash are first line scorers in a new offensive system.
Player I would stay away from is Sedin, regardless of the keepers his contribution is going to be limited to the Assist, +/-, and PPP only.
@Michael what you listed was what I had been planning on. The toughest is with Quick/Niemi, but since Quick is younger and not coming off back surgery this season, I'm hoping for a return to the form of 2 and 3 years ago. I love Callahan, he's a beast in shots and hits, gets some shp and with good offensive players around him, can put up numbers there as well. St. Louis is tough too because of his age, but after last year and the fact I have Stamkos too, I think I gotta keep him.
@daniel Again, goalies are tough and might be a coin flip before I declare, so either way I hope to be ok. As for keeping Ryan, I traded for him before the start of last year with the intent of keeping him, now I'm hoping he drops in the rankings I can redraft him
@Dagger I like the leafs as well, especially Lupul. Had him 2 years ago and traded for him last year. I'm kinda hoping he'll be ranked lower again this year and I can get him in the draft.
Thanks for all the advice guys. Ideally I'd like to have pretty much all those guys back, except maybe Mike Richards lol. Looking forward to the new season
That's a nice list to pick from. My choices:
- H. Sedin
- E. Staal
- St. Louis
- Callahan (does great with all the stats mentioned, and new offensive coach will only help)
LA is getting better and has a coach that likes to stick with one goalie. Niemi is great too, but SJ might be losing their key players at end of season due to free agency and decline further. Quick will be worth the keep in the long run.
Niemi, Staal, St. Louis , Nash, Sedin, and Ryan... I'd normally say Quick before niemi but b/c of how poor he did last regular season you should probably go with Niemi who is always consistently really good...but I do like Letang too so keep him and Stammers
