Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
Here's my situation -
10 man ROTO league, pts for SOG's, HITS, PIMS, +/-, A's, G's, and PP PTs.
I'm #1 in my pool...by 1 pt, and DEAD last in the HITS category.
C- H Sedin, E Staal
LW - Vanek, Marchand
RW - Kane, Malkin (I've been playing Neil while he's been on the IR)
D- Pietrangelo, Weber, Yandle, P Martin
U - Thornton
Bench - Neil, Couture, Brunner
Should I deal one of my TOP fwd's (i.e. Kane) and try to land someone like Lucic/Hartnell (maybe even Kunitz), OR, should I simply drop Martin and pick up someone like Emelin to fill the need for more HITS? I know Martin's injured (and sub-par), BUT, he was playing well with the Pens.
I don't think I'll win the pool unless i address the weakness in HITS.
Conal makes a good point.BUT If you trade Kane, i would suggest Kunitz to be honest. His offensive production matches Kanes yet he has 50 more hits than him. Therefore, you gain HITS and dont really lose any other category. If you drop Martin and do decide to pick up Emelin, you could still consider the trade. Adding Emelin#$%$ AND Kunitzs could be very promising for your team.
Hits, like PIM, is one of those categories that can be addressed with a one-dimensional player on your roster. Personally, I would drop Martin for a more hits-oriented defenceman like Emelin...you've got enough firepower in your lineup that you shouldn't be concerned about the trade-off in points. If he happens to chip in offensively too, it's a bonus.
