Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
I'm in a 12-team H2H league and I'm currently 1st but I know it's only been 2 weeks and there are holes on my team. I'm thinking of making these 3 offers...should I? I don't want to explain my motives in detail since it could make this post long but if you're curious, ask away and I'll respond. Basically I see Perry as a potential buy low, Iginla as a bust, and need a goaltender.
I get: Corey Perry and give up: Logan Couture, Iggy
Note: I'd have an extra roster spot so I would pick up either Boedker, Plekanec, or Kadri
I get: Jimmy Howard and give up: Iggy
I get: Martin Brodeur and give up: Iggy
My lineup is C - Couture, Damien Brunner, J. Staal, RW - Gaborik, Iggy, Clarkson, Jeff Carter, LW - Elias, Perron, Lupul (on my IR), D - Chara, Kronwall, Ekman-Larsson, Faulk, G - Schneider, Lindback, Holtby
So would all of these potential trades benefit me if I could get the other manager to accept? Thank You!
Sorry if I may have missed it, but is this a keeper??
I personally like trades 2 and 3. I have to agree with you on getting rid of Iggy, he is a decent trading chip though. Howard is a good goalie, but he and the Red Wings have had a rough time stringing together some good hockey lately. It's hard for me to go against him because I have him... but Brodeur is better playing between the pipes right now. I must say, he has shocked me with his age and the amount of playing time he receives. Even at his age, he is putting up quality numbers. He is superior to Howard in shutouts, save percentage, goals against average, and is equal in wins.
However, he will likely see less ice time than Howard will. Still, I would take trade 3.
If you need to clear a roster spot, I would drop Holtby. His play has been downright sloppy and the Caps are still suffering hard from the sudden season start and new management.
Whatever you decide, best of luck keeping that #1 spot.

thanks man and no this isn't a keeper league...i did send offers 2 and 3 out so hopefully one of em takes it. i'll drop holtby if i can get another goalie. I have to ask though, why didn't you like trade 1? do you not see perry bouncing back to be a top 10 fantasy player?
I like Couture HIMSELF more than Perry. Lol.
However, I think Plekanec is really going to step it up this season so trade 1 might be good.
I normally wouldn't take trade 2 but...your goalies are not good. Schneider is essentially a backup, Holtby as well, Lindback is a #1 but TB is playing way better than they should be right now. Their D is atrocius.
Trade 3 is similar case as trade 2.

well we can say that now but i see Perry as a potential buy low....but if you disagree, do you think its risky to make that offer? I'm giving up Iggy as well because I thought I was sending a lowball offer for Perry if it was just Couture than Perry...can you think of any other offer I could make for Perry?
And yeah I might offer trade 2 or 3 because of that.
