    Trading H.Sedin to get Lundqvist

Is this a good trade?. 15 player roto league. Stats are G/A/+-/PPP/PIMS|W/SV/SHO
My other goalies are average, Bryzgalov, Hiller
I'm currently in 13th and my roster is as follows: Not sure that it will help me much climbing the standings...
    C - Stastny/Steen(c/w)/Carter(c/w)/H.Sedin/Marchand(c/w)/Bolland/Derek Roy
    W - Bobby Ryan/Matt Read/Dupuis/Glencross/Sullivan/Carcillo(IR)
    D - Erhoff/Chara/Pietrangelo/Hamuis
    G - Bryzgalov/Hiller/Ellis/Khabibulin

Lost out on getting Anaheim's backup Fasth. No notables on FA

    • Under normal circumstances, I would say go ahead. Under your circumstances, however, I can't give that go-ahead. TWO reasons and ONE suggestion:

      a) Your league set-up does not include SV%, apparently. As a ratio that loosens the value of goaltenders compared to offensive players. Offensive players contribute to 5 stat categories, while goaltenders only contribute to 3 (this is lower than standard default leagues).

      b) Your offense, as it stands currently, is pretty weak - especially your center position. Marchand's injury might be more serious than advertised. Can you really trust Statsny, Steen or Carter? It would be difficult to defend trading from a weakness.

Your offense is weak and your goaltenders are worse. Your defense on the other hand would be exceptional even in a 10 team league (nevermind a 15 person one). I suggest you go looking for a team with weak defense, and package Chara or Pietrangelo for in return for some value.

This is a short season and it is about time to aggressively shake things up if your team is doing poorly.
