PICK 1 for PIMS (and HITS)!

I'm dead last in PIMS, and looking for a consistent guy in this dept.

    Which 1 would u take?

    Adam McQuaid (BOS)
    Ellerby (FLORIDA)
    Smid (EDM)
    Stuart (SJ)
    Aulie (TAMPA)

I grabbed McQuaid cause he's a goon, and BOS usually scraps often.....but, he hasn't played for a bit, so i'm looking at other options. Ellerby's leading PIM's, but, if you look at his game log, he's only really had ONE big game!

    • I'm a Bruins fan, so I can confirm that Mcquaid has been out 2 games due to a "personal reason." It's undisclosed, like probably a funeral, but he's a regular starter and not a healthy scratch. Another thing to consider is that McQuaid is likely to have a stellar +/- in Boston.

Did someone in your pool snap up Subban after he got signed?

      • Hold on. McQuaid did take leave for a funeral - his grandmother's - but apparently he was back in time for the Devils game but was a healthy scratch anyway. This NEVER happened the last two years, but Hamilton's surprisingly awesome play pushes him down the depth chart probably to 6th. One worry is that Julien plans to platoon McQuaid with Aaron Johnson as a depth/readiness move. I hope not, as I love watching him face-rake and cross-check in every little scrum. Anyway, I'd keep an eye on it.

Incidentally, McQuaid just bought a house in Boston and Hamilton moved in with him after the Bruins decided to keep him rather than send him back to juniors.

      • Thx Danny! I'll keep McQuaid for now, and hope he's #$%$ off when he returns and racks up PIMS for me! lol I was leaning towards grabbing Stuart cause he's with SJ, and getting alot of PIMS and HITS.
Subban was actually drafted late in our pool.

    • Are you insistent upon taking a D to help out in this category? There are plenty of forwards that could provide great HITS/PIM totals...

      • Yes, I like to use my fwd's for offense, and let my D rack up the PIM#$%$.
I'm doing well in my pool, tied for #1, but, will fall out of contention if I don't land someone to shore up the HITS/PIMS.

Here's my current roster for FWDS and D -

        C- Thornton
        C - Backstrom
        LW - Vanek
        LW - Datsyuk
        RW - Malkin
RW - Clowe (playing him and benching Loui to increase HITs/PIMs)
        D - Weber
        D - Yandle
        D - Pietrangelo
        D- Salo
        U - Marchand

        Bench - McQuaid, Eriksson, Selanne
