Need help with my Centres. Who to drop/pick up???

I just dropped Roy today and picked up Kassian before someone else grabbed him. But now I am left looking for another true Centre to help me get shots, points and Faceoffs. Looking at Gagner hard, and even considering S. Koivu as he has looked good, but he might have the same problem as Roy in a week or two.

Ideas/ should I drop anyone and pick up one of these guys?

    League includes all points/powerplays/shorthanded/GW?plus-minus/PIMS/face-offs/goalie stats.

    Here is my team:

    Goalies: Rask and Ward

    True Centres:
    Sidney Crosby(Pit - C)
    Mikko Koivu(Min - C)
    Ryan Getzlaf(Anh - C)

    Zdeno Chara(Bos - D)
    Erik Karlsson(Ott - D)
    Alexander Edler(Van - D)
    Justin Schultz(Edm - D) (?)

    Chris Kunitz(Pit - LW)
    Johan Franzen(Det - LW,RW)
    Loui Eriksson(Dal - LW,RW)
    Ryane Clowe(SJ - LW,RW)
    Jordan Eberle(Edm - RW)
    Andy McDonald(StL - C,LW)
    Zack Kassian (Van - RW)
    David Perron(StL - LW)
    Nathan Horton (Bos - RW)
    Cory Conacher (TB - C,LW)

Here are the best centres I could pick up:

    Chris Kreider(NYR - C)
    Sam Gagner(Edm - C,RW)
    Brandon Dubinsky(Cls - C,LW)
    David Desharnais(Mon - C)
    Mikael Granlund(Min - C)
    Derek Roy(Dal - C)
    Bryan Little(Wpg - C,RW)
    Sean Couturier(Phi - C)
    Derek Stepan (NYR - C)
    Patrik Berglund (StL - C)
    Dave Bolland (Chi - C)
    Antoine Vermette (Pho - C,LW)
    Saku Koivu (Anh - C)

Any Suggestions? Looking to for more depth at Centre (I am not big on trades, specially this early in the season).

    • Looking at your list. I'd go with Gagner first for sure.
      S. Koivu, like Winnik, seem like they're going to drop off.
Berglund isn't bad but inconsistent. Reminds me of last season's Jokinen.
Couturier could be someone to keep your eye on. Granlund as well.

    • Don't know who you should drop but berglund has been doing well

    • Others might say different but no one jumps out from the list above what you already have

If considering anyone Gagne could be your guy as he is #2 C with Oil with Hemsky/Yakupv as line mates they also get 30%+ of PP time and he gets PK time as well so you might get a SH point here and there.

One other to consider not on list but still is a FA in most leagues is A.Steen with Blues. Splits faceoffs with Mcdonald on 2nd line with rookie stud Tarasenko. He also does PK and get this,,,, wait for it,,,, wait for it,,,, 50%+ of PP ice,,, yes 50%+

Tough for me to say yes to drop and pock up a FA,,, I see you jumped on Conacher last week which is good, he is a keeper and will be in league for quite a while.

Be patient with what you have, your roster is good and this includes your C's,, give it ten days or more

      • Ya, I'm going to wait it out, but my concern is mostly just needing one more guy taking those faceoffs, as I really only have the 3 centres who take the draws on the regular. My thinking is more just replacing one of the guys say Macdonald or Kassian with someone who can put up the same kind of numbers in points, but win some faceoffs at the same time.

Additional question... My goalies are a bit of a problem, it's early, but man Ward is not helping me at all. But because my league has 5/6 stats for goalies almost all goalies worth looking at are gone, the only goalie I see around right now that I could replace Ward with, would be Linback. Not sure if I should just bench Ward and wait him out. The other option is just dumping Ward and picking up Rasks backup and just play them all year.

Sorry my league is 1 year, H2H.
