Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
Here's a move made recently, awaiting approval/veto from the league:
I receive: Skinner, Suter
I exchange: Duchene, Doughty
Pro League H2H. My thoughts are Suter & Skinner bringing more power play points to the table. Other than that, it's all elite potential around the table. After this trade, the team would look like this:
Malkin, Stastny, Skinner
Filppula, Lucic, Doan
Stewart, Cole, Callahan
Suter, Weber, Kronwall, Whitney
Ward, Niemi, Howard
I know the wings are a bit weak, and so is Whitney; that doesn't pose much of a scoring threat. At least my goalies are decent. I've compiled a watch list of current FAs that may be able to help. Lemme know if any are a good bet:
C: S.Koivu, Kadri, Bozak, Berglund, Plekanec, Grabovski, Huberdeau, Weiss, Turris, Kesler (IR)
LW: Ladd, Tanguay, Hudler, Kulemin, Glencross, JVR, Malone, Stalberg, Sullivan Vermette, Raymond, Winnik, Schenn
RW: Versteeg (IR,) Atkinson, Havlat, Grabner, Okposo, Hornqvist, Erat, Horton, Voracek
D: Carlson, Fowler, Girardi, Robidas, Kulikov, Spurgeon,
Planning on stashing Kesler in IR until healthy, and grabbing something if there are any suggestions?
I'll try to give some help. I think Duchene will bounce back and do better than Skinner this year IMO. Suter...can't be sure. I feel like all the Wild points come from their forwards. Also, Doughty is at his lowest ATM so you have to be careful. I feel like this D trade is about equal. Thus, I feel that it is disadvantageous for you to make this trade.
HOWEVER, you also have Statsny...and I personally hate having 2 members of similar positions on the same team. So eh. Could be good.
Yeah your W's are weak. I don't like Flippula, Doan, Stewart or Callahan.
I hate Whitney too.
If you want position symmetry, exchange Flip for Kadri. But I really like how JVR looks right now, this might be his breakout year. Go for whoever you feel is better.
Doan for Havlat. Stewart for Grabner. Callahan for either Horton or Voracek.
None of the available G are that great. i think Carlson has the most potential though.

I think Filp had a fluke year TBH. (I have the same thoughts for Lupul)
Callahan's game time is heavily affected by the burgeoning of Nash. Stewart gets little-to-no game time because of the Blues' depth.
You can make a case for Doan. He's old...and I feel his production might cease. However, you can make a similar case for Havlat in terms of injuries. The Sharks are incredibly hot right now...so go with your own gut feeling about this one.
