  • Potential trade involving Pavelski and Holtby. Should I do it?

    In a 12-team stander H2H league and need desperate help to try and improve my forwards. Should I take this trade?

    I get: Joe Pavelski + (either Joffrey Lupul or Ray Whitney) and give up: Braden Holtby + anyone

    My team is C - Logan Couture, Jordan Staal, Jeff Carter, LW - Tyler Ennis, Patrik Elias, RW - Gaborik, Iginla, Stafford, David Clarkson, D - Chara, Ekman-Larsson, Kronwall, Faulk, G - Schneider, Holtby, Lindback
    His team is C - Crosby, Spezza, LW - Lupul, Fleischmann, Whitney, Dupuis, RW - Pavelski, Marian Hossa, Selanne, Vrbata, D - Wideman, Girardi, Hamhuis, Kuba, G - Fleury, Vokoun

    I was thinking Pavelski + Whitney for Holtby + Clarkson but what combinations of the possible trade is good?

      Your team is not in THAT bad of a position offensively. Pavelski is a decent option though...

      Your team is not in THAT bad of a position offensively. Pavelski is a decent option though. My only consideration is that you are not trading from an area of strength. Schneider might share more starts than he would like with Luongo. Lindback does not play for a team that will win often enough.

      I have two suggestions:

      a) Examine the other teams and target the ones that have low PIM players. Try and pry away a benched roster player from those teams by offering them a package of Clarkson + LW (or C).

      Like Clarkson and Carter for Mikko Koivu, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, etc. It is worth a try.

      b) Scour your FA for available sleepers. Such as Havlat (who will play alongside your Couture), Huberdeau (rookie), Chris Stewart (history as a crushing power forward), Galchenyuk (rookie), Erik Cole (underrated). Ales Hemsky,etc., etc., etc.

        I also think Lindback might surprise and get wins. If you didn't like my 6-player deal though...what do you think of these ideas?

        a) I might try that and maybe also aim for Brad Richards or Getzlad=f

        b) I was going to scout FA throughout the season but should I pick someone up now? All of those you mentioned are FA except Steward and Galchenyuk. If I pick someone up, who should I drop?
