Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
I am pretty good in H2H leagues, but my hockey team decided to do a rotisserie fantasy league so I really didn't have much of a choice but participate. I'm sure I made mistakes so please feel free to provide any tips or suggestions. The stat categories are G, A, PPG, PPA, PIM for players, and W and SO for goalies... that's it. Player categories are 3xC, 6xW, 4xD, 2xG, 2xbench.
Benn (forgot he's unsigned)
Elias (also C)
My strategy was simple. I don't worry about defense until the later part of the draft. Aside from a few exceptions (Chara, Weber, Boyle, etc) there isn't a lot of statistical variance between the majority of defenseman around the league. I also like to take care of my goaltending early so I then focus all on offense from forwards and then defense.
I was thinking of dropping someone, preferably a winger to pick up Downie, as I think he'll have a good 40-50 point season and a #$%$ load of PIM. Was thinking of dropping Tanguay or possibly Hemsky. Also considered dropping Zajac.

I would drop Tanguey before Hemsky.
At least Hemsky is on a winning team, and he will be playing on a very talented 2nd line for the Oilers. If he manages to get injured (again), then you can drop him - he is reserve anyway, so limited loss.
I wouldn't worry about Benn, I heard that deal is very close.
P.K. Subban, on the other hand....you may be waiting a while.
I know you said you waited on D men, but you ended up w/ Subban and Shattenkirk. Not sure you wouldn't have been better served passing on them for better forwards.
Tanguay, Hemsky and Zajac are all droppable, imo.
Keep an eye on Kesler, he's hurt now but if he returns soon (next two weeks?), I'd consider dropping Zajac for him. I'd probably look at swapping Hemsky and Tanguay now for Downie. I'm not sure about the 40-50 pts (maybe 40) but he'll rack up nice PIMs. Cammelari may have a nice year in CLG too, probably at some expense to Tanguay. If you can find a D man to give you at least 30 pts and 100+ PIMs that would be good to.
Just Ws and SOs, huh...in that case, your goalies look good. They'd look good with the other goalie stats too though, so it's too bad their value is minimized by only using two cats. Anyway, I'll shutup now. Good luck.
I forgot to add that there are a lot of good FA available in all positions, such as...

I would worry about your goaltending, neither one has been a #1 before, until lou gets tradedschnieder will be lookin over his shoulder, I also dont get to concerned with chasing PM i go for scorers those who get powerplay time. Other then that you did pretty good.
