  • which trade makes more sense?

I have an offer where I get Crosby for Lundquist. I was thinking of offering Lunquist to another team for Stamkos. H2H league 11 offensive cats. 4 goalie cats. Which would you do?

I would keep Lundquist. In a compressed NHL season an elite goalie is going to be more valuable. The elite goalies will get more starts while the average-good goalies will see more time split with their backups.

Go for stamkos, if you get him pick up Rask, holtby, reimer or theodore for a third stringer goalie. GAA may not be good with these guys, but you'll get the wins needed to get by each week. If Stamkos doesn't work out, counter Crosby deal with another player for one of his goalies.

Keep lunquist over Crosby or continue to target stamkos. Crosby is one bump away from the end of his career.

Take this trade in a heartbeat.

Forget the normative value for these two players via yahoo's rankings (or any other sporting website for that matter). Whomever designed your league made it offense-heavy. Regular default leagues favour offensive categories six to four over goalie categories - that is 3:2 in favour of offense. And, even with that Crosby is still ahead of Lundy by ALL drafting measures.

Your league has an almost 3:1 in favour set-up to offense over goalie statistics. This is a cinch deal for you. Forget the injury problem since he has been cleared to play for a while. When healthy he is far and above the best player in the league.

If you are weak in goaltending after Lundy then expand the deal to get a throwaway goalie in return from your opponent.
