Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
10 team points league, snake draft. I picked 5th.
M.St Louis (RW)
I know my D is weak, but my offence is goiung to be sick, my goalies are studs
I agree with most of the comments here--goaltending may be a weak spot for your team. I actually like Bryzgalov this season, but I'd be nervous about Price's win total and Crawford's numbers. A strong team that should be in the thick of it, but I wouldn't hand you the title yet.
I would hate to rain on the parade of optimism here, but your team is below-average to poor. It is almost like you drafted it, thinking it was 2007 or something.
Three (of your biggest) problems:
Your center position is very weak after Sedin and Bergeron. Getzlaf and Carter are two players coming off of bad seasons. Both are late round fliers and a 10 person league - and arguably waiver wire players. Even if they rebound and produce productive seasons you still have to contend with their +/- killing play.
Your defense is very very bad, but you know that.
And, finally, your goaltending is not stocked with "studs". They all have a history of being inconsistant. Crawford is awfully inconsistant and the Chicago brass do no't believe in him, apparently. Remember they did make a run at signing Broduer this offseason. Price has made a career of being inconsistent, and he is coming off a not-great season. What hurts him the most is Montreal's defense. It is bad. Of course, you probably are most jazzed about Bryzgalov. Did you know before the lockout ended he had been demoted to 3rd string with his KHL team CSKA Moscow? THIRD STRING! He was that bad.

So Getzlaf still plays on one of the top lines in hockey, with Bobby Ryan and Cory Perry will get points just being on the ice, he isnt the player he was a few years ago, but a solid player. Carter had a horrible year playing in Columbus (a team he was upset being traded to) he is now going to play with Richards, I think we all remeber what they did together in Philly. my D is bad but who cares about d anyways?? My goalies aside from Price play on good teams so will get wins, my league has standard scoring. G,A,PP,PM + -. I dont generally go for goons who only get PM I go for who usually plays on the top PP line. As for inconsistent goalies, there are only a few goalies who dont have inconsistent years, if you only draft players that had a "great" year last year, you are always going to be a year behind!!!

This is possibly one of the most ridiculously ignorant statements I have ever read. I think he's just raining on your parade for the sake of raining on your parade. Not a great team, but not a bad team.
I wouldn't exactly say your goalies are studs. Price is great but wont get alot of wins. Bryzgalov COULD be great, could also be very average. Crawford is likely going to be average.
You could use PIM. (if your league counts PIM). I'd consider dropping Corvo for someone with PIM, if theres a decent option in FA
