I have Ryan Ellis (Nsh - D) rostered right now, but I'm not sure if I should drop him for Dougie Hamilton (Bos - D). I think Hamilton might get more of a chance to succeed, that's if he makes the roster.

I was gonna say drop Schenn but I guess he is rosterable given your settings with blocks and hits. If this is head to head categories I really don't understand having all those pointless categories, if it is points and they just provide a little then it makes a little more sense. Moving on, I would keep Ellis, he will be first PP unit with Weber. I still might look to pick up Hamilton as well because if he makes Boston he will see PP time.
What I hear is that Hamilton is slated to start as the number 2 pairing, so I would definitely stick with Ellis. My concern with your d-men would be the plus/minus, hits and blocks. I might look to fix that with a Girardi type player (good team, decent point total, really good blocks), unless you have numerous forwards like Backes
