Make sure in the first couple of rounds, you draft proven studs with impressive track records such as Stamkos, Malkin, Crosby, Giroux, Ovechkin, Kovalchuck, Lundvist, Sedins, etc. Then in the mid to late rounds go with young players that have breakout potential, try avoiding the older guys with more mileage on them. Draft a few guys that get you a ton of penalty minutes as well as balanced scoring at the same such as Perry, Hartnell, Lucic, Simmonds, and Burrows. Players of that nature. Look for high +/- forwards and defenseman as well as defenseman that are involved on their teams power play in real hockey meaning more points for your fantasy team. Never reach for a defenseman in the early rounds as they tend to usually interchange with scoring every year a new guy will breakout and burst onto the scene like Karlsson last year. Make sure you draft 2 solid goalies as well as a viable backup. You don't have to take one early, but don't wait too long or else your goaltending will be weak. Just remember go after the players you like and think will help your team win. Oh yeah and in the late rounds, go after certain sleepers that are poised to break out such as Schultz, Brunner, etc. Hope that helps! Good luck...
