Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
I traded Tim Thomas before the season began for
Seguin, Neal, and Nieddereiter
In our league u get 8 main keepers (Neal)
4 Farm keepers (Seguin meets this requirement)
and 8 rookie keepers (nieddereiter qualifies)
trade 1: give, v. prospal
get, d. backes
*trade took place 3rd or 4th week of the season when prospal was clipping along at a pretty good pace.
trade 2: give, p.rinne, d. buff, s. gonchar
get, m.kiprusoff and s.stamkos
*i came out ahead on this trade too, but goalies are truly a make or break for any fantasy team, so this one made a bit more sense.
trade 3: give, c, price and n. krownwall
get, a. neimi and kovy
trade 4: give, s. downie
get, t. selanne
i feel trades are all about timing. if done right you can give your team a true edge.
chara, nash and brodeur
malkin, neal and lundqvist
my team is now
C henrik sedin
G pekka rinne
G brian elliot
Best: Received Perry and Gionta for Jagr and Clowe
Worst: Received Getzlaf for Lecavalier
Received H.Sedin and Nugent-Hopkins for Kovalchuk and J.Thornton (This is borderline bad, but wanted Henrik since I had Daniel and Burrows and easily replaced Thornton with either Filipula or O.Jokinen)
Received Semin for Heatley
Received Nash for M.Richards
I had a decent one in the very beginning of the year when Brodeur was injured...
I dealt Corvo/Hedberg/Doan for Tim Thomas
I had Rinne and Neuvirth when the year started and since then I've just been rolling with 2 goalies in Rinne and Thomas....it's worked out very well. Also since then I believe he dropped both Corvo and Hedberg a couple months after the trade.
i traded teows and quick and got giroux and stamkos. i traded bobby ryan and got parise. i traded vanek howard streit and schneider and got st louis doughty hiller and mike smith. i think ive done pretty well this year :)

Giroux and Stamkos for Toews and Quick? That guy is a moron. Anyways, worst trade for me was giving up Gaborik and Mike Smith for Niemi. I was in big need of goalie wins, and figured Smith would go back to being his usual Mike Smith self eventually. Also had a ridiculous surplus on offense so losing Gab didnt hurt. But Smith has kept it up while Niemi has single-handedly lost me 3 weeks in a row in my head to head league.
gave Jack Johnson for Mike Green.
gave Mike Ribeiro, Niklas Kronwall, 8th
Scott Hartnell, 12th
(made room for Byfuglien to come off of IR)
gave Joe Thornton, Brent Seabrook
PK Subban, Phil Kessel
I liked giving Brian Gionta for Tuuka Rask before the season started.
My biggest trade was Shea Weber + Henrik Zetterberg for Daniel Sedin. I think that one came out fairly even, excepting that my Defense corp didn;t really work out the way i thought it would (thanks Alex Goligoski)
I've made a few trades this season.
Best: Gave Kunitz and Briere for Hartnell and Kronwall.
Worst: Gave Toews and Shattenkirk for Briere and Corvo.
I don't know what I was thinking with the Toews trade. Him and Shattenkirk have had good seasons, and Briere has been a disappointment.
ive made a lot over a couple pools:
1. perry, getzlaf for ovechkin, E.staal
2. toews, backstrom for malkin, thornton
3. st. louis, P. kane for zetterberg, H. sedin
4. doughty, 2nd round, M. koivu for tavares, 8 round, stewart
5. hall, zetterberg for spezza, st louis
6. backstrom, keith for letang, eberle, plekanec
7. lidstrom, kipper, turris 3456 rounds for schneider, brown, seidenberg 1278 rounds
what do you think?
