I'm just saying, maybe this guy sees potential in Wayne Simmonds a year from now and doesn't want to take the risk of having an injury prone guy like Evgeni Malkin on his team. Obviously Malkin is currently infinitely better than Simmonds right now, but this is a keeper league we're talking about. Marian Hossa is certainly an upgrade from Brendan Morrow, and Ward is certainly an upgrade from Hiller. I might consider making this deal if I could get a little more than Wayne Simmonds, like someone up and coming with a lot of potential (Skinner, Couture, Seguin, Benn, etc.)

now since i been on this board this year, jake has always been very insightful and helpful, and obviously knows his stuff, so i respect his opinion, just disagree on the malkin side here, but anyways fair enough.
I don't know about seeing long term value in Simmonds more so than Malkin, injuries or not. At least they are not concussion injuries which are career ending. I could definitely see Skinner, Seguin, etc coming across for Malkin in a trade like that but not Simmonds. As for as Ward VS Hiller, perhaps there is no edge one way or the other when looking at if further.
