Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
So my trade just went through today.
I traded Dustin Byfuglien, Brandon Dubinsky and Ondrej Pavelec for Henrik Zetterberg.
I now have to pick up a FA goalie and Dman
I'm in a H2H league and scorng categories are....
G, A, P, +/-, PPP, SOG, W, L, SV%, GAA, SO
My team looks like this.
LW - Parise, Neal, Booth
C/LW - Zetterbrg, Prospal
C - Stamkos, M. Richards, Plekanec, Weiss
C/RW - Carter (IR)
RW - Havlat, Alfredsson (DTD), Hemsky (IR)
D - Boyle, Liles, Souray, Gonchar (Just picked up)
G - Luongo, Ward, Elliot (Just picked up)
Once everyone's healthy i will be dropping booth and i picked up elliot and gonchar in the mean time just incase.
My question is though with these FA's is there a better option than Gonchar and Elliot and are there any weaknesses in my roster that i should try fix through trades or dropping/adding. If so who??
Notable FA's are
F - Brad Boyes, Eric Cole, Evander Kane, Dustin Penner, Ryan Smyth, Michael Frolik, T.J. Oshie, Steve Ott, Olli Jokinen.
D - Ryan Whitney (DTD), Andrei Markov (IR), Thomas Kaberle, Marek Zidlicky, Kevin Bieksa, Roman Hamrlik, Grant Clitsome, Ian White
G - Tukka Rask, Jose Theodore or Jacob Markstrom, Devan Dubnyk, Cory Schneider.
Thanks for the help!
If you could, try and get st louis, its literally the best guy to have if you have stamkos. they feed off eachother every night and the points alway rack up in your favor. You have enough talent to work something to get him
your team looks really good, I would think of picking up kaberle, though hes not playing well right now, the guy was a shoe in for 45 points and really good numbers in Toronto every single year, I would think about picking him up when he gets into a nice groove on his new team.
your team looks solid..
personally I would dump elliott for dubnyk or shneider..
I have 0 faith in Brian elliott sustaining any starting job ever in the nhl... while dubnyk has been looking pretty solid.. and vancouver essentially has 2 starters
Well first of all, I would definitely think about parting with Elliott for Markstrom. The kid has the talent, and Jose Theodore (when he's not hurt) is as fickle as a woman during her time of the month. As far as dropping Gonchar though...I don't see anyone out there right now, but when you hear that Markov is on his way back I'd make the switch. If he's healthy he'll give you similar numbers but without the +/- drawback. Hope this helps!
Your Roster moves look good.
The only thing that could maybe better you is Schnider or Dubnyk. Halak will eventually turn his season around, Schneider will get more starts then he did last year and Dubnyk will be the number 1 as I don't beleive Knabiboulin (sp) will continue his hot start. But elliot a good pickup while he starts.
I'm not sure there are any improvements sitting on the waiver wire, but I think Penner could play well this year when he's healthy. If you could trade one of your excess Centers or LW's for an upgrade at RW, I think that would be your best move. Alfreddson is getting old, Hemsky's an injury risk, and nobody knows how Carter will play when he's back from injury. Heck, even Havlat is a risk...
Your team seems fine with these changes. Elliot will take time to play out to see if he is a good pickup (normally not great, but could be much more valuable if Halak continues his current performance). Personally, I like Rask more as a backup goalie, but it's not a major issue for your team. Make a note to pick up Markov in a few weeks when he gets closer to returning from his injury.
