Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
Kopitar and Vanek will be studs on teams that will win a ton of games. Brassard has yet to turn into the player the Jackets were looking for and I would think that his ice time will drop with Carter and Ryan Johanson in the mix. I would take Vanek and Kopitar over Ovi though for sure. Have a look to rookie Johanson too, I expect big things from him this year in Columbus.
I'm not a big fan of 2 for 1 or 3 for 1 trades because you have to drop other players so you end up losing more than just the 1 guy...here's how I see it. For OVi, you should be getting back a TOP 10 forward at the LEAST...you're getting Kopitar so you got that. Vanek is a god pickup and should increase his point total with the summer pickups by Buffalo. Brassard to me is a through-in...I personally think he's over-rated.
So Vanek takes OVi's place in your LW spot...if you can afford to drop a centreman, then it could be good trade but if you have to drop a top 20 centreman to make room for Kopitar, you might be giving up too much!!!! Too many variables, depends on the rest of your line up!
If you have a second, give me some feedback on this one:
In a 12 team ROTO league...stats are G, A, P, +/-, PPP, SOG, PIM and HITS. I need 2 out of the following Dman as my # 4 and 5 defencemen. Who would you take? Pleas rank them as 2 are on waivers and I may not get the best 2 players.

Vanek and Kopitar for Ovie you would be making out very well. Vanek is a lock at 30-40 and nearly ppg, Kopitar is a ppg guy. I'd get Brassard outa the deal and do the 2for 1 if you need a center upgrade. If your team has strong centers than I may keep Ovie. My rule of thimb is I only make trades to build my team up. I needed center badly in a league and it is dynasty so I wanted young too. I moved Perry for Kopitar and Eberle. All depends what you need.
Thanks so much for getting back to me with such a in depth response most people just say so little. I love Kopitar but I am not going to let go of Ovechkin for 3 players that I will have to drop people for.
Now on to your d-men going by last year stats with PPG and PPP
