Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
Green may be ahead of Carlson but he has also had injury issues of late. Green goes down and Carlson may move up to the top PP unit. Caps are deep at D so it's tough to say. I'm not a big McBain fan, not with Pitkanen and Kaberle ahead of him.
McBain should see some PP time with the 'Canes this season, but Pitkanen and Kaberle should get the lion's share there.
Carlson is a great option, HOWEVER, he obviously benhind Green on the Caps' depth chart for PP work, but with Washington's offense the point will come. Don't forget that Wideman is also in a contract year.
Cam Fowler would be a great option!
Also think about:
- Shattenkirk (STL)
- Souray (DAL)
- Look at the Ranger's D, with Staal down there could be opportunity there.
- Larsson (NJ)
- Ian White (DET)
- If Gardiner make the Leafs
- Carle (PHI) Especially if Pronger is hurt
- Would be surprised to see Eric Johnson in COL to fall down the ranking further than he should.
- Draft Andrei Markov late.
- Even Cowen in OTT has had an impressive camp.
Kronwall is in line to play at least 30 minutes a game with Brad Stuart (who is a defensive defenseman) allowing Kronwall for a lot of scoring opportunities.
Tyler Myers and Alex Goligoski should have repeat years.
Shea Weber, Duncan Keith and Mike Green should have big bounce back years
Chara and Pronger stats will drop...significantly
