Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
just finished my draft I had the 3rd pick in a 12 team Roto public league. This looks like my best team ive drafted to date . what do you guys think any weak spots on the roster ?
C- J. Toews, J. Tavaras, V.Lecavalier
LW- A. Ovie, H. Zetterberg, E. Cole
RW- A. Semin, C.Stewart, T. Selanne
D- D. Phaneuf, T. Myers, M. Giordano, D. Wideman, Z.Bogosian
G- M. Kipper, J. Halac
Tavares is a liabilty for +/- in a roto league he's going to earn a lot of negative points
Cole is a bust waiting to happen, remember the last time he left Staal's wing? he came crawling back with his tail between his legs...
Stewart is a question mark, he plays a higly physical game much like Ryan Malone which is very condusive to an injury riddled season... asside from that he has only put up one good season, he needs to prove he can replicate it...
Phaneuf plays for an awful Toronto team good luck getting points...
Myers had a terrible season last year, hopefully you can chalk that up to a sophmore slump...
Halak should be good again this year, and healthy
Kip is probably going to have an iffy year, he's not getting younger and if Iginla can't drag the team through the year it's going to be a long season for kip...
you need three goalies and the two you have aren't the greatest. Kipper is way overrated.
In standard roto leagues your goalies give you 40% of your points from just two roster spots. Never under estimate the importance of goalies.
I agree w/ Jeff. If you can't pull off a trade for a 3rd goalie, (since there would be squat for goalies left on FA in a 12team league), be ready to pull the trigger on a FA backup when a starter goes down. Nice LWs. I think you'll be able to pick up a D that gets 40+ pts, just gotta keep your eyes peeled.
If I may ask your opinion, check this post:
In roto leagues you need 3 starting goalies if you want to use up all your games.
Team looks good other then that, some good depth but very weak D.
In Roto leagues you don't want to cycle your players so having 2 studs is better then having depth at a posistion.
Try to do 2 for 1 trades till you have 2 studs at every posistion and 3 starting goalies and just ride them out.
