Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
Ovechkin - playing slightly above average, except for shots on goal.
Semin - hurt and not doing well, but could come back
Halak - i'm never picking him again, he has been awful for months.
Letang - pretty good and my last pick in the draft, but struggling, even before crosby and malkin went down, he's been average or below lately.
so basically, i figured it out, if i pick up the right waiver free agents and cycle them in and out, with chara performing alright in letang's stead, i can fill in for him. filling in for ovechkin is impossible but i'm thinking cycling LW could potentially work somewhat. semin has been gone for so long, that it doesn't matter to me.
basically i made this trade because i'm in a 1 year league and my goalie stats, thanks to halak are hurting. I need quick to play lights out, and i have a chance to medal this year. also on a funny aside, even though the guy i traded is in first by a lot, his margin for error is really small, and he has voukon and halak now. i'm thinking his goalie stats are going to plummet and his offense isn't going to change all that much. so that could be interesting.
can you believe i made this move? i can't. i figured shooting for the stars and getting the goalie i needed was more important than staying course with the elite players i had that were playing average.

no one with good goalies would trade. we have 12 teams and like 8 of the GMS are inactive. 2 of the 4 that are active refused to trade, and this guy would. again, it's a shit trade but i needed a goalie.

Jonathan Quick > Halak
Ovechkin > Mason Raymond, but my plan is to cycle LW to make up the difference
Letang > Chara, but not by much.
Semin was expendable to me and probably should not have been included. i won't miss him.
yeah, like i said, it was a WTF trade, but i NEED goaltending more than i need struggling wingers
