Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
I get: Anze Kopitar, Milan Hejduk, and Kevin Bieksa
I give: Brad Richards,Marian Gaborik, and Shea Weber
I didn't propose this trade but the guy that did says I'll get more points out of this trade. What your thoughts on this trade? Should I accept or should I decline?
This is the story though. Yes I gave Richards, but also I gave Penner and Johnson. I got Kopitar, Wolski, and Bieksa. I imediately dropped Bieksa, added Derek Stefan since he's having a really good year. I had Nabokov and since he's not playing, I dropped him for Ryan Callahan. It was of no consequence since I had four goaltenders on my team anyway. The reason I traded Richards was because aside from him, my offense wasn't producing much and with the injury to Edler, I would be losing more valuable points. So rather than revamping my defense, I decided to revamp my offense. However to that, I had to make sacrifices and that's not easy in a 12 team league. Kopitar, wolski, Callahan, and Stefan should be enough to make up for Richards, johnson, and Penner.
So this is my team
C: Nicklas Backstrom, Anze Kopitar, Alex Steen, Derek Stefan, Saku Koivu
LW: Nikolai Kulemin,Wojtek Wolski
RW: Ryan Callahan, Marian Gaborik, Daniel Alfredsson, Kyle Okposo
D:Shea Weber, Ryan Suter, Nicklas Lidstrom,Tomas Kaberle, Alexander Edler(IR)
G:Tim Thomas, Tuukka Rask, Jonas Hiller

Stupid... Just plain stupid.
Maybe your league uses a weird format that this makes sense.
I sure hope you're talking about Erik Johnson and not Jack Johnson. That would make it even worse.
Brad Richards is having a better year than Anze Kopitar. He's got ten more power-play points than Kopitar for crying out loud. Bieksa is garbage regardless of who you traded for him. The only place you might come out ahead on this is Wolski for Penner, and that's only if Wolski decides to kick it up a notch.
The guy you picked up? His name is Stepan, not Stefan. And you can't play him if you're already playing Backstrom and Kopitar in front of him, plus having him fight for time with Steen and Koivu. Callahan, same issue. Apart from that, now you've got two wingers from New York, so you're fucked if you want to play Okposo again the Oilers while the Rangers are playing the Bruins or Penguins.
WHAT! No way! Even though Kopitar isn't producing like he should in points, Bieksa is hurt and will be even after the all star break. This guy is trying to get you to sucker into this one with Gabies recent hat trick production. Keep Kopitar for sure. work something else out if you can. Gaborik would be nice to have, but not at the expense of Kopitar.
