Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
At work and will be answering questions. If I dont get back to you right away please be patient and check back as I will answer to anyone who posts. To get better advice please state type of league, categories and if its a really big trade both parties teams. I am currently in first in 3 of my leagues im not a hockey guru but I know what im doing and am here to help.
Hey I got offered Gaborik and Thomas for St Louis. It is just a points league. The only way goaltenders can get points is wins(4) and shutouts(6) and i already have Fleury, Ward, Varlamov and Crawford in net. Accept trade?
I'm doing fairly well in my league - second place right now with decent leads in several categories. That being said, I am struggling some with my Gs, so I'm hoping I could nab a top G to polish off my weak points. Any ideas on what I could trade away for a good G without weakening my team? Note: I have Pronger on IR right now, giving me one over cap.
League is standard plus hits. Here's the team:
Chris Pronger [IR]
*Backstrom is my weakest link, so he's the one I'd most be looking to ditch if I can. I'm hoping I can tie him in with someone else, If I can. I'm just not sure anyone would bite without me giving up too much.
League is in fairly deep, so the FA is mostly bare.
Any suggestions would be cool.
I have Elias and looking to possibly upgrade at LW. Available FA include Penner, Morrow, Kunitz, Whitney, Tanguay, Neal, Umberger, MacArthur, and Ruutu. Do you suggest dropping Elias for any of these players (1 year points league).
Hey, I have a couple potential trades...1 year 8 team points league, scoring categories: G A PP SHP GWG
i would give: Backes and Kovalchuk for Malkin
i would give: Backes and Kovalchuk for Carter
Would these trades be something i should pursue and go after? There are some pretty respectable FA's availiable such as Malone, Whitney, Leino, Elias, Kulemin
I've won my league 2 years ago, third last year and in the top three as of now in a 8 man league with a big lead. I know what I'm doing as well. Here's what I have to ask from a fellow experienced GM. Keeper league. Right now I have Luongo, Rask, Roloson, and Anderson in net. Brodeur is available and I have am open spot, all my other positions are great. Should I grab him as trade bait, or is it worth the cost of one of my weekly moves?
I am ina 12 team league H2H 1 year league.. Need your opinion on where I should improve. I am currently in 6 th place

At the beggining of the season I would have said you had a nice pair of RW's however with kovy shitting the bed and gabby not getting it done, Id say you are fairly weak there. I would try to trade these guys instantly for guys like temmu who is point a game and briere who is playing exceptionaly. As for your defence I dont like Marc Staal and Gonchar. Gonchar is on a struggling ottawa team with alfy not producing and spezza out and staal is just not a fantasy defencemen. Try packaging these two for a solid guy like erhoff, goligoski or even liles then test the fa waters there is definitely someone better than staal in a 12 man. Other than that I really like your team... once brodeur gets a few wins under his belt sell him high and cut your loses.
MY CURRENT LW's:
Simon Gagne is avail on FA list. should I drop Raymond for Gagne? Looking for the right long term move, dont care particularly about THIS year as much as the bigger overall picture for the next few years.
Or keep Raymond and drop a D or RW??

To be honest im a big canucks fan and am biased towards Raymond. He had 53 points last year. Hes 26, really talented and signed for another 2 years on an incredible canuck team. Gagne on the other hand is getting up there hes like 35 or something and has had trouble finding chemistry on the tampa squad. I see him on the decline from here on out.
lucic or horton. H2H keeper league. lucic was my lw keeper but if i trade him, then it'll be laich and vanek. my rw is very weak (was gonna keep horngqvist and gionta)
Also, i offered kopitar and gionta for briere and skinner (the guys been asking me for kopi for a while) my center are sedin, plekanec and boyle
Should I accept the first one and is the second one fair?

If your rw is weak get horton. They produce similar numbers. Kopitar trade sounds good as you have decent centres but is a gamble... Kopitar is the best player and Gionta is declining. However skinner has shown great talent and should be a beast next year if he doesnt have a sophomore slump. Briere has been playing like his old potential but you have to watch out... he is very injury prone. My vote yes to both.
I'm in a salary cap dynasty league. We use our own contracts and when they run out they are bid on with the previous owner having rights to sign them after the bidding ends.
I own Ovechkin and was sent an offer that was crap by the 1st place team. I'm currently in 8 of 10.
I sent him a counter:
Ovechkin (3) for Parise(2), Couture(1), Letang(2), Varlamov(2) and his 1st round rookie pick.
He stated too much so I added Downie with Ovechkin and asked for the 2nd round instead of 1st.
He countered with Ovechkin/Downie (2) for Parise, Couture, Letang, Penner, Bertuzzi, Garon and the 1st rounder.
I'm thinking about this trade offer and wondering if Ovechkin(3) for Parise(2), Couture(1), Letang(2), Penner(1) & 2nd rounder ..... might be worth it. What do you think?
(We waive players and have a farm system - I was going to send Hall back to the farm and waive Kubina in the original trade offer.)
( ) = the years remaining our league contracts
