Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
I'm in a head to head pool with lots of goalie stats. I had Steve Mason in for his shutout the other night so now it's pretty likely that I would win the L (0), SV% (1.000), GA (0) and Shutout (1) stats in this matchup if I just rotate out my keepers to make sure none of them play for the rest of the week.
Just want an opinion if that would be considered strategic, cheap or cheating. Personally I think it's cheap but that's at least three maybe four stats I would have in the bag but would likely be sacrificing getting wins in the shots against and wins stats.
I found out about this the hard way. In a 3 start minimum league I got 2 starts from backstrom and vokoun. (2)(0.97)(.970%) and sat them the rest of the week due to matchups i didnt like ( out of a possible 3 starts).. ONE game is a bit on the cheap side, especially a shut out but i considered my strategy as common sense not wanting to send vokoun out against philly.
I have done that got 2 shutouts and a 2 goal win and benched my goalies the rest of the week.
Make sure you reach your min games for goalies tho before you bench everyone all week, or else you will lose every goaltending stat

Okay thanks for the advice everyone. I'll have to check what the minimum starts for a keeper are if there is a minimum (I didn't think about that). Then we'll see where it goes from there.
Did you meet the required goalie starts? Most leagues, its about 3. Ive never heard of a league where you can only start once in the whole week and have the stats count. If that's in fact the case, no I dont think its cheap. If the league is setup in a way to allow/encourage this strategy, take advantage of it.
