Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
I'm in an 8-team league and want to upgrade at goalie. We start 3 Gs, and count W, GAA and SV%. Currently have Rask, Turco, Neuvirth, and Varlamov is on bench. My plan would be to offer a goalie and a top offensive player for as good of a goalie as I can get. Starting from the very top, how would you rank the best goalies? And which of mine would you try to trade?
right, now is the time to try to get brodeur on the cheap. but if you can't cut a good deal for him, stay with what you've got.
rask is close to elite, and turco and the washington pair will get you loads of wins.
If you act fast, you could get Brodeur on the cheap right now. I just traded Carter for Brodeur (a fantastic deal, in my mind). He'll pick up, but he's crap right now, so the unwise might want to unload him. I'd offer a top defensemen or a mid-level forward and a mid-level goalie. The payoff will be worth it, trust me.
Why trade? You hav eperfectly legtitimate gk as is. I'd stay the way you are, and not sacrifice a valuable d man.
Goalies for this year:
2) Jimmy Howard
3) Martin Brodeur
5)Turco (think wins)
...those are just some I really like. I just put Howard first because Detroit's D is better than Buffalo, and will help out Jimmy more for the wins. Miller is elite status, period. Still too early to try Neuvirth or Varly, but one of them, or both. Turco will get most of the starts, so I'd keep him.
