Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
8 team league..big roster. G, A, PPP, GWG, +/-., PIM..
I want to drop Ryan Whitney (Edm - D)
for one of these 3 that i've narrowed down..
Paul Martin (Pit - D)
Joni Pitkanen (Car - D)
John Carlsson (Was - D)
Which D should i pick up? Or should i keep whitney..
also Jovinoski and Mcbain and some other D are available to..
I think I would hang onto Whitney.
My next choice would be Pitkanen.
Its rare for a 1st yr offensive d man to get over 30 pts. Whitney could top 40 in oilerland.
Otherwise keep a close eye on developments and if you see a d man trending hot well then you have a decision to make.
Martin will be on the PP with Pittsburgh, but so will Goligoski and Letang. He won't be the go to guy there.
Carlson is a risk because he is a rookie, but many predict he will get at least 40 points this year. Doesn't hurt to have the other talent Washington has on its power play.
Pitkanen is a safe bet but he'll have more competition with Babchuk back in Carolina.
I'd take Pitkanen but keep an eye on the others.
What I'd be looking for is "the key guy" for the respective team each player evolves in. In that case, Pitkanen would be my choice as he's the key guy on Carolina's PP. Martin might nudge some minutes but Goligoski and Letang both show up on the PP. Same goes with Carlson who might just play on the 2nd unit as Green and possibly another FWD might take the 1st unit time.
As you please!
