Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
I was wondering if loading up on 5 Goalies during the auction would be a good idea,
Here is my thinking.
Goalies seem to be auctioning off real cheap. Miller is the #6 overall ranked player and yet he is only going for and average of $22 Luongo, Rask, Lunquist, Broduer, all real cheap.
Compared to top forwards going for crazy prices from $40 all the way to $80 for OVI.
My thinking is if you can score 5 great goalies for a decent price. I'm sure you would be able to flip them later to a team that needs goaltending bad. For a great return.
What do you guys think?
That's only a great idea
the others log in often enough to notice your trade offers.
I've noticed that a lot of people playing these fantasy games seldom do so since they run out of time running so many teams.
How tight are the other managers? What is your asking price? Questions you have to ask yourself before you sell your goalies off. It takes two to tango and you don't want to fall to far behind offensively if none likes your trade offers. In theory the strategy will work if you get returns you like. Either that or you take a hit.

Doesn't seem like a douchebag move to me. If the other managers really want these goalies, why do they insist on not paying anything for them? Surely they had an extra $1 or $2 to nab at least one of the guys I'm stockpiling. That's just my opinion though.
I like your strategy too though. And I happen to think they can go hand in hand. Let the managers spend big bucks on top forwards so that they have nothing left for the good tier-2 goalies who tend to get nominated later.
