How does my team look ?
Hey buddy, I'll give this a shot . . .
I'd say you're stacked at center. Statsny is great Zajac is touching 70-75 pts. Duchane will be great.
I think you need some better wingers. Kane Semin and maybe Raymond: aside, You could do much better with Guys like Brown, Sharp, Doan, Horton, Symth ect. . . There's plenty more better LW/RW's out there than Benn Ericsson Homer Jokinen.
Add SCORING to your D. Get a Streit, Gonchar, vishnovsky Souray Barker Letang even JovoCop should do great this season. in my opinion Edler, Schenn aren't helping, Pitkanen Yandle Bogosian are even iffy I'd say. And Against others I think your are SET with Backstrom and Quick, don't let them go !
I draft Kane 1st round all the time, the guy is a stud. Best RW in the game and he is on a young team. You may want to move Schenn, he isn't much of a scoring D, Lids is your #1 but I don't think he will be in the league much more than this year, maybe next year. Backs is an alright goalie, as long as Min continues to play the way they did last year, he should get some goof numbers, but I would have to agree with the other guys, Quick is coming off a great year, but look for the Kings to move one of their 2 goalies (Quick / Ersberg) to make room for Bernier, who will replace one of them before the season is over. But if they move Quick, he'll prob still remain a #1 goalie with the team he goes to, just won't be LA (IMO). I'd hit the FA and grab a goalie, don't know who is left, but look for Greiss if he snuck through (I think he'll steal that job by Jan). Kadri should make the top 6, doubt he will get 1st with Kessel, so he might not get too many points until he does, but should be fun to watch.
I don't want to be another negative post'r here but by the looks of it I would assume you're first three picks went like this:
maybe not in that order but I imagine I'm pretty close.
With that said, I think you might have gotten yourself off to a weak start missing out on some players that would have been far better to have.
For first round I can think of 11 players I would take over Kane. The fact is that I don't think there is any RW that I would take unless picking last in a 12 team draft.
1st round worthy players in my mind:
That would leave Kane for 12th. Did you draft last in your league? If so then was any of those players available? I can't imagine your league drafted with the same rankings I just put out.
Then that leaves us to the second round, I imagine you were going on the strategy of 1st round draft a stud offense then 2nd round a stud goalie (just basing on the fact you have a lot of goalie stats so most would want to draft a goalie early)
IMO theres 7 better goalies than Quick. Especially in a keeper where it's common knowledge that Quick has Bernier on his ass and is going to be in a nasty battle sharing net duties till one wins out.
Here are my 7:
I went through all of that just to show you that your team is not really that good and it probably had a lot to do with your first three picks. Your later picks are pretty good, you did a great job recovering with some great picks.
Defense you really dropped the ball. But that could be just because you didn't want to waste early draft picks on D. It's a strategy a lot of people use and the same strategy that holds them back. A third round pick is prime for a guy like Green, Doughty, Keith, or some other stud Dman thats capable of 60 plus points
Just my opinion
Its not a bad team, but your goalies are weak, you d is questionable. You centers are decent, but Zajac and Dutch are questionable. Your forwards are pretty good. If Semin stays healthy they can carry your squad. You league stats I don't like though.
