Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
So the Malkin owner in one of my leagues has made him available with a quoted price of "2 star/stud forwards". I guess i'd be mad to not at least give it a look, but do you feel it'd do too much damage to my side if I even tried to snag him?
12-team H2H keeper, keep 8.
C - Sharp, Connolly, Stoll
RW - Gaborik, Iginla, Backes, Sharp, Fleischmann, Bourque
LW - Heatley, Burrows, Raymond, Fleischmann, Bourque
D - Gonchar, Streit, Rafalski, Greene
G - Luongo, Rinne, Chris Mason, Elliott
IR - Clarkson
Any idea who his favourite team is? Maybe try using that against him in a lowball offer, if you have a player from that team.
Two years ago I got Malkin in a keeper league for Alfredsson and Drury. The guy trading Malkin was a Sens fan and he was so blinded by getting Alfie, that he didn't realize how bad the offer was. Two years later, I have a top 5 player, he has an aging Alfie and no Drury after not keeping him last year.
To this day he still defends making the trade.
I'm not so sure you should try. I'm finding most Malkin owners are over valuing him thinking that he's a guaranteed 100pt+ player this year and every year.
I offered Getzlaf and Alfredsson and was laughed at. Who wants to give up a combined 180+pts for a possible 100pts? Even so Malkin will be lucky to break 85pts this year.
It it's not a keeper than don't bite. Keep your depth

Yeah, that's my thinking. I know the guy's elite, top-3, blah blah blah, but he's not playing up to that kind of price right now. His owner's extremely short on depth so I guess he's looking to turn 1 asset into 2 (he only recently traded for Malkin oddly enough), but as i'm top of the league i'm kind of skeptical of messing that up... even for Malkin.
Eh....ur studs consist of Heatley Iginla and Gaborik...any combo of 2 is a lot of points lost...i dont think its worth giving up for Malkin...maybe u can offer a 2 for 2? or if hes a generous dude maybe he will consider Connolly a "stud" with his good playing as of late.
