Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
H2H league, and I am about to jump into 1st after this week.
I have been offered J.Thornton and Boyes for Bryzgalov and Pavelski by a guy desperate for a goalie. I am already pretty good at C (Carter, Weiss, Ribeiro, Horton, Antropov), but adding Joe is never a bad thing, right?
My other G are Huet and Howard, with guys like S.Mason, Leclaire available via FA to add as #3.
Not sure about disrupting a team that has been trending up for more than a month now, though.
Should I pull the trigger?
Go for it... we both win.
I know you're not asking for my opinion, but I thought it couldn't help.
Though, an extra question... if this were to work I would be getting rid of one of my goalies. Who would you keep if you had to decide between Anderson and Backstrom?
Anderson = more wins but the guy likes to let pucks by him
Backstrom = just the opposite
and Ian, I'm asking in a purely sportsmanship, trusting your opinion is free of manipulation
I'm going against the grain and say pass. I know Thornton is an assist machine, but you have sufficient centres already. In multiple categories, how much more is Thornton going to help you on a week to week basis? This would hurt your goaltending situation significantly. Howard is not guaranteed to be starting once the H2H playoffs begin - I wouldn't be surprised if the Wings lean on Osgood to get them into the real playoffs. That would leave you with Huet (decent) and FA adds.

Hey, thanks man. I am actually leaning that way myself. G stats are fewer, but can't be overlooked. Joe would be a huge addition, especially if Weiss goes cold, but it might hurt the balance of my team.
This is my whole team, for the record.
I guess it'd depend on what your tracked stats are. For me, wins and shutouts only count, and the other 6 are skater stats. Maybe try to trade him Bryz for Thornton straight up? Boyes' +/- is terrible and will probably stay that way.
