Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
trade already went throug people in my league are saying I raped him since I got parise and thomas....i am the commish and could overturn it though....but I thought it was a close trade. I personally like quick over thomas, but I have rusk so I dont get care that I get thomas. and kessels stats are very good since he returned
I think this is definitely worth a veto. Quick is doing well but his numbers are mediocre at best. And Thomas' numbers aren't the worst so I might consider that even at this point based on Thomas' potential.
Kessel for Parise is unfair. Lopsided in favor of Parise. They both take lots of shots but Parise is a 90+ pointer on a great team with a great +/- and gets SHP and GWG as well. He is also better on PP. Kessel, if he had been healthy all season would probably only be a 70-75 point guy on a mediocre team with a mediocre +/- (at best)
no veto... come on, think about it...
vezna winner for a goalie who just started to shine this year (and can stop any any minute) and grade B (at best) forward... do people really think BOS will suck all season long?
for what it's worth, i wouldn't of trade Thomas if this deal was offered to me.

if theres a reason to veto this it's due to parise...@#$% Thomas, he's a career backup who had one good year. Jim Carey won a @#%$ing Vezina......so did Theodore......Kolzig (he was decent though) and I think Thibault.
Wow... So many Leafs fans.... -or who else would consider Kessel an equal to Parise??? Let's face it the LW situation looks as follows:
Kovalchuk and Parise
Heatley, Sedin, Marleau
Penner, Neal, Nash, Ryan, Elias, Malone, Cammaleri
the useles bunch.

i honestly hate the leafs but i dont know how you can have kessel ranked below ryan, malone and neal (dont forget kessel is actually flagged as a rw in Yahoo)
Lets look at his numbers for last year and this season so far:
Goals - Avg 0.52 per game
Assists - Avg 0.34 per game
Pts - Avg 0.86 per game
+/- he's a +27 while playing a defensivly terrible toronto squad (this season a +4)
and just under 4 shots again (3.60)
And he converts about 14% of his shots
Compared to some of the guys you listed
Ryan is 0.5 goals a game, 0.4 A per game, +15, and converts about 15-16% of his shots and about 3.05 shots per game
Pts per game avg - 0.9
0.5g per game, 0.31 A per game, +12, 2.05 shots per game and coverts about 18% of his shots
Pt per game avg - 0.81
0.37g per game, 0.25A per game, -6 (though a +5 this year), 2.4 shots per game, converting 16% of his shots
Pt per game avg - 0.62
There is two players involved in the trade!!!! Thomas has been losing a lot of starts to Rask and LA has been playing very well.
When you consider a trade it's usually one person giving a little in one area to gain in another. Maybe one person has a lot of LW's and really needs a RW....we don't know. But when you place these two players in the deal, it's close enough not to warrant a veto.
I could see how it COULD be a veto as Parise is better than Kessel (even though he hasn't missed a beat this year) and Thomas COULD get it together and play like the Vezina winner he was, Quick has no rep yet.. I wouldnt have vetoed though

Why would this be a veto??? Thomas isn't an upgrade over Quick, both very close. And Parise is maybe a slight upgrade on Kessel but look at his shot totals and points per game. All and all is a pretty fair trade.
guess it depends on if you feel the Thomas for quick part is too lopsided
Kessell for Parise is fair in my book. If you think thomas is religated to the back up role in Bos then yes veto it. If you think he can regain his form from last year and reclaim his starter job then I dont think its worth a veto.
Honestly i think this is really a toss up and just depends on if you want to gamble on Thomas.
Im assuming the person getting Kessell/Quick is in one of the top spots in the league and the person getting Thomas/Parise is in the bottom 3 or so?
