Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
Right, let's say one team needed a C and the other needed a RW; would Iggy for Thornton be a fair straight-up deal, or could one get more than the other?
It's a H2H keeper - keep 5 - standard cats.
I guess not, but the balance seems - on paper - to be a good idea. Obviously with Iggy being 32(?) it's a question of how long he'll have the kind of value he has now and whether he'll still be able to return a stud *young* C in a year or two.
I do like the idea of selling Bourque high though, it's a question though as to whether Bourque's overperforming now (he was after all at just under PPG pace pre-injury last season) or whether this is him playing to his potential. Hmm, do you feel Krejci would be a fair swap then?

Keeper league and you're looking for a centre? Target Stamkos. Many pro scouts have said that if he and Tavares were in the same draft year, Stamkos STILL would have been taken first overall. The guy's got fantastic upside (more so than Carter). Now a 1-for-1 swap with Iginla isn't quite in your favour, but I'm sure you could work something out.
iggy is the best RW in the league, and hes also better fantasy value..since he gets all around good stats. Thorton is good if you need assists and +/-. So id say it really comes down to that. But if you really need a center and your willing to trade Iginla then Thorton is one of the best Centers to get so its pretty fair.
Surprise, it's me again. :)
It's a fair deal, but I would prefer Iggy.
Although Thornton could crack 100 pts, it's mainly assists. I'd rather have a 90 pt guy who is more valuable in multiple categories. And since he's a winger that makes him even more valuable.
If I were giving up Iggy, especially a keeper, Carter would be my target.

Great timing, haha.
Yeah i've been looking at Carter but the guy that's got him doesn't appear to be deep enough at C (he's got name guys, but most aren't performing (Jokinen, Bergeron, B Richards, O'Reilly) and he's solid at RW (Semin, Ryan, Knuble, Hossa, Neil) so there's no reason for him to do it unless it becomes more than a straight swap.
