Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
In which league did Franzen score 30+ goals in the 07-08 season? The guy had 38 points with 27 goals in the year we're talking about.
Last year though, he was paired with Zetterberg (2008-09) and had a career high of 34 goals and 59 points. I believe you're confusing the years when speaking of the 30+ goal campaign.
You believe him, good for you. The article is a summary of the season prior, which was the season we were discussing.
Mike - you might as well go off on me too. But Setoguchi is not as good as Havlet - pretty simple. Bad shoulder or not Havlat is a better player.
We all undertsand that Havlat has ahd shoulder syurgery but now Hossa has too - so are you telling me youd' take Setoguchu over Hossa too? If not then you are contracditing yourself because of corse Hossa is at risk of injuring that shoulder again.
Its fantasy hockey as NHL fan put it - any good player playing is a valuable player in fantasy hockey regardless of their injuries.
Tell me how bad my ttam is with Gaborik, Hossa and Havlat??
Yes, I have all theree on one of my fantasy teams and I'd be willing to bet if all three out score Seto this year. .
You do show huge lack of self control and maturity.

I never said Seto was as good as Havlat. I just said I picked Seto to minimize the injury risk. You are making that assumption just because I picked Seto over Havlat.
For me, injury risk. Plain and Simple. Both will get similiar points, but never did I say Seto was better than Havlat.
No need to go off on you as you said. You pretty much did a good job on yourself with your moronic post.
"all NHL players are at the same risk of MAJOR injuries"
free country, believe that if you want...but I don't.
nope. I'll consider that age, medical history, conditioning, build, even playing style all factor into risk of injury.
and some guys are just cursed.
hell, bertuzzi is a bigger injury risk just because of karmic retribution.

Mike... add to that that you posted this thread. NHL Fan, like him or not, was kind enough to offer HIS opinion (everyone on this board is posting their take on trades/value), and you flamed him for it.
Couldn't agree more. Seto over Havlat, because like it or not, past injuries do have an effect on future ones. Ask anyone who has ever had a major knee injury about this. That said, freak accident happen everyday. However, because of Havlat's previous injuries, he is more likely to be affected by something that may not hurt Seto as much.
Lets not turn this into a flame war.
Just because the article says that doesn't mean he did it for the full season. I do remember seeing Red Wing games and Franhzen and Zetteberg were together without Datsyuk.
So are you telling me Frahnzen scored 30+ goals while Datsyuk and Zetterberg played together in 07/08?? Not likely..
I'd trust the people in Detroit over an article. Plus Detroit juggles their lines a lot.
Here's an article from preseason 2008:
It clearly states that the lineup was split up at times, but Babc*ck would put them together during the 07-08 season. With Hossa, they would afford to split the line.
It's in the article: "Nearing the end of the first month of the season"
Yes, they got split up during that season, but his statement that they haven't played since 06-07 is not correct. Also, while they played together, it was the same year that Zetterberg had his career year... that's a fact too.
Nope - you are getting your seasons confused. I believe NHL is right.
The October 07 article was speaking of the previous season. How can an article in October 07 tell you about how the 07/08 season ended? If it did it would have mentioned them winning the cup..
Did it have in the article that the wings won the cup? If not you are confusing two seasons.
In fact in a joking clip Datsyuk said during the 07/08 season he was crying that he and Z got split up.
They kept that line together from late October (almost 13 games into the season where I took this article from) for a big portion of that season. He was the leading scorer in the NHL while the lineup was together.
Too bad you can't read Mike - did you finish the third grade yet?? Calling me a name is a sure sign of complete immaturity just because some one does not agree with you then you call me names. .
First off I was not talking about any injury to Zetterberg. I was talking about Hossa joining the wings and Z's numbers falling because of it. In that respsect Heatly joining SJ can have the same affect on Seto. THIS IS NOT ABOUT AN INJURY _ GOT IT MIKE? Have some one read it to you that understands an injury versus am example of a player production falling off etc.
I also was not talking about minor injuries - I know the difference. Plus if Havlat and Gaborik are such an injury risks why were they able to sign contracts? Why do NHL teams want them. I hope you can read that or get your mom to read it for you.
And if yuo can read Mike - all NHL players are at the same risk of MAJOR injuries - call your mom or have some one call her so she can interpret it for you.

"And if yuo can read Mike - all NHL players are at the same risk of MAJOR injuries - call your mom or have some one call her so she can interpret it for you."
Actually no they are not. While a fluke injury can happen to anyone
1. some players through better physical conditioning decrease the risk of many strains and pulls
2. Some players simply have stronger or less strong bones
3. Some players have chronic problems that make them more susceptible to certauin injuries
4. Finally style of play-- Are you going to tell me that Kristinn Huseleius (who can't spell "bodycheck" let alone perform one) has the same risk of injury as a bonecruncher or a guy that fights?
NHL Fan your statement is demonstrably false on its face
"I also was not talking about minor injuries - I know the difference. Plus if Havlat and Gaborik are such an injury risks why were they able to sign contracts? Why do NHL teams want them. I hope you can read that or get your mom to read it for you."
bawawawwawawwaaww - they are taking a risk moron. Just like what my orignial question was. Some people like taking risk, others minimize the risk by not signing them. Just like why I picked Seto over Havlat, to minimize the risk. To say they are both equal risk to get hurt is the stupidiest thing I ever heard. You sir are a complete moron.
"And if yuo can read Mike - all NHL players are at the same risk of MAJOR injuries - call your mom or have some one call her so she can interpret it for you. "
Yeah so I guess Seto has the same risk as re-injurying is shoulder like Havlat because SEto also had 2 shoulder operations???? What an idiot!!!!!!!!!
NHL Fan = PURE A$$CLOWN
