1st ever hockey pool
I'm kind of new to hockey as a sport and other than the couple fantasy guides I have looked over I have no experience with fantasy hockey pools! Can someone look over my team and let me know how it looks? I am in a 12 team Head to Head league.
C-Datsyuk, Briere
LW-D Sedin, Marleau
RW-Gionta, Little
D-Markov, Rafalski, Wideman, Kaberle
G-Ward, Turco, Varlamov
BN-Stamkos, Filatov, Arnott-
yahoo is moving breire to RW and should be listed as rw when the season starts.

you sacrificed defense and goalies for forwards naturally for h2h look for Brassard and Leino to replace stamkos and Filatov for defense you generally wont find anyone but look for willie mitchell he is usually ignored at d and is a solid #1 despite lack of pp's (mainly because the front line are puck hogs) its a good smart draft solid playoff beware of Turkey and Varlomov though.

For a first-timer , I think you have quite the decent team there. One thing I would look to do is tinker with your bench a little - Arnott would be my choice to trade or drop. Also, Filatov has not yet guaranteed his Roster spot long term - if he doesn't produce quickly, he may not dress most nights

Did I read that Briere will be getting RW eligibility, if so could I move him down to wing and move either Arnott or Stamkos into C?

Not bad for a first time. Datsyuk and Briere are keepers, as are Sedin, Marleau, and Gionta. You could probably try to improve on Little. Markov and Rafalski are keepers. Wideman isn't bad. If you got Tomas Kaberle (Leafs) then your defence is pretty complete for a 12 team league. In that case, you could use a defenceman as trade bait for a better winger or centreman. If you got Frantesik (?), who I believe is still with Carolina, then you have a solid Defence, but I wouldn't be downgrading it much. Ward and Turco will be solid number ones. Varlamov is slated as number one for Washington, and very well should be after a strong playoff performance. That said, I wouldn't count Theodore out, he make take that spot by December. Stamkos is due for a good year, but there are better centres available. Filatov will give you a decent output, and as for Arnott, he can be counted on for another fifty point season.
My advice, dangle a defenceman out there for a solid winger. Sit on Varlomov, see how his season goes. If he starts losing his job, use him as tradebait. Other than that, good luck. -
Thats a pretty good leage depending n how your sleper players do it might be average or really good i would trade some of your weeker players for a strong player.
