Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
briere is sitting of FA and i wanna grab him before someone else does.
lecavalier, Stastny, Roy
Hemsky, Selanne, Iginla
morrow, vanek, tanguay
gonchar, markov, campbell, e johnson, kaberle
luongo lundquist varlamov
i've tried making some two for one deals but nothing goes thru. i wanna get briere before its too late, hes 100% healthy, is gonna get rw status with richards and gagne, and is a point per game player. is anyone droppable?
varlamov- im all set in net but this kid cud be a stud this year and i cud use him as trade bait.
johnson- first round pick for a reason, major surgery but was a sleeper in the draft and he'll be gunning the PP.
kaberle- some say hes washed up but hes a proven 50 point guy whos got a new coach and a semi-rebuilt team, he could be a workhorse.
tanguay- the weakest of my forwards i think, but he'll be playing with st. louis and vinny so he could be filth this year.
any other ideas? doesnt seem like theres any obvious choices but i really want briere.
If you want to drop a forward you need to let Tanguay go, otherwise I'd be dropping Kaberle or Johnson. Both are coming off injury ridden seasons so they both are potential boom or bust guys, but then again so is Briere
All of your forwards have value, but I think Tanguay is the weak link. He definitely gets his points, but on Tampa, he won't be much of a plus, he doesn't pile on PIMs, and he's simply brutal for shots.
As far as your D is concerned, Markov, Campbell and Kaberle are all the same type of player: they give you gobs of points, and not much else (your roster is FILLED with guys like this). I'd advise going to the trade well and searching for a guy who gives you lots of PIMs and shots. You can afford to overpay for a player like this. Also, check to see if Avery's still available. He's the perfect antidote for your team.
