Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
Isles (4 game remaining) has 61 pts / 26 wins.
TB (3 game remaining) 66 pts / 24 wins and Col (4 game remaining) has 66 points / 31 wins.
Does anyone see the "likely chance" that either TB or Col could end the season with fewer points than the Isles?
If TB & the Isles tie with some amount of points TB most likely would be ranked lower because of fewer wins.
I am an Islanders fan and all I am asking for is that 48.2% chance of holding onto the # 1 draft pick.
Did you watch that game tonight?? Lol that should answer that question - NO! no-one has a chance of ever doing as poorly as the Isles. The only question left after watching that embarrassment on Ice tonight should be 'why are you a fan?'
Im sure somewhere John Tavares is cringing at the THOUGHT of playing for the Islanders!
The average peewee team would have stood up better to the Hurricanes

lol, give the guy a break... he's a true fan who stands by his team. good or bad. its better than a fan who just jumps on the bandwagon of any good team at the moment. Maybe they'll be better next year.
they had a lot of injuries this year, including their goalie.
but tonight's game was totally totally terrible!

I can see the Lightning being a force in 2-3 years. They have a lot of young talent, and an offense that CAN be very strong.
If they get Tavares that gives them possibly 4 top offesnive players (assuming tavares and stamkos live up to first round picks). Plus Prospal and Malone who are solid offense.
Smith shows some promise for the future and if he can be a top starting goalie, they can become a play off team. And with some improvement in the D department they can be a contender.
I know there are a bunch of ifs here, but what I am trying to say, is I see hope for Tampa's future...
Now this is just a rumour but some actual hockey people are saying that the Islanders and Lightning are the only two teams in the NHL that would consider taking Hedman over JT. Although I think it would be crazy for them to do that because the development of d-men is always slower than forwards and that is why more d taken early end up as just average players

I really hope the Lightening get him. I'm not a Tampa fan and my team (Canucks) have no chance in getting him but this is why I think Tampa should get him.
1) Pittsburg lucked out and got Crosby and Malkin. It's unfair but atleast if Tampa got back to back 1st rounders than it would even the playing field a little.
2) It would prove my theory even more that there is a lot more "fixing" going on behind the scenes in hockey with that cack smoker Gary Bettman. Pittsburg was in danger of losing their team and now look how things are going. Funny how Tampa is now in the same position.
3) I like Tavaras and if he got picked up by Tampa not only would he be able to develop in a relatively easy setting he would also get to enjoy a nice sunny warm place to live.
Call me crazy but I'm thinking it's all already been figured out like one of those reality tv shows.
I know it's a little over the top conspiracy theoryish but thats my opinion. I look forward to the comments now
