I just read that the Pens have sent Goligoski to the minors this morning, and last Thurs. Gonchar claimed he would be back "sooner than expected". Pure speculation here, but my guess is the Goligoski move is to make roster space for Gonchar.
Anyone have any info on this?-

I have Gonchar on my IR & I can't wait to activate him.
He ruined my D this season by getting hurt preseason! I drafted him, let him go & then reacquired him. i hope he comes back & goes on a tear!
I think he will be back this month as opposed to March. Goli going back was definitely a good sign.- View Replies

Ya' know, I did the same exact thing...drafted him, dumped him mid-Oct., and picked him back up about three weeks ago. We drafted during the early pre-season and I used my third round pick on him...D'OH! Fortunately, it didn't hurt me that much because I was able to get Semin in the 10th round, Souray in the 12th, and Gagne in the 13th because people were staying away from them due to their injury histories, and they've all stayed relatively healthy and productive so far this year (*knock on wood*).
But I saw that news item this morning, and logic would dictate that the Pens would only make that move to open a spot for Gonch, although in the story they claimed it was to get him more "playing time". But to me that would indicate that his "playing time" is about to get cut because of Gonchar's return. I don't see any other reason for the move with the Pens hurting on defense as badly as they are.

Well late Feb./early Mar. was the word a few weeks back, but he's been out of the no-contact jersey since last Monday, and on Thurs. said himself that he would be back, "sooner than we expected." Like I said I'm speculating here, but given that after four days of taking part in full contact practice he says he'll be back "sooner than expected, you have to think his shoulder is feeling OK.
Also, from what I've been reading, his main problem at the moment according to him is his "timing". Reading into all that, added to the Goligoski move, makes me think he'll be back rather soon. If demoting Goli was just a move because of too many defensemen, you would think that Eaton would be the primary suspect for demotion based on #'s, but since they moved Goli instead, who is a PP & puck-moving D-man, I have to figure it's to bring Gonch back into the fold.

make sure you're on Classic mode & not Drag & Drop.
As long as your League has IR spots then you should be able to do it.
Once the guy is officially IR he will have IR as an option just like LW or BN for example.
It will become LW, BN, IR. -

There is a way to do it in drag and drop mode also, Stuntin, if that's the style roster you use. Just pull a player who is listed as IR beside his name to the very bottom of the roster and an IR spot will show up. Carolyn's method is probably easier though if you're not sure what you're doing.
