Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
...I've advised this several times over the last week, but if you've picked up Langenbrunner, DEAL HIM NOW! His trade value has never been higher in his life. The guy has only scored 20 goals three times in his life with his career high being 23. Sure, he has 6 goals in three games, but he had 8 for the whole season before this, practically doubling his season total this week, and was widely available in most FA pools. Why? Because the goal output this week is a FLUKE! There is absolutely ZERO chance that this guy hits 30 goals. He has almost hit his career average for goals in a season in the past few games, and this isn't a guy on the upswing of his career...he's been around for 14 years!
So, for all of you looking for trade advice, if you picked him up, trade him NOW, while he has any value at all.
You can thank me later.

Just to recap on Langenbrunner's production since the inception of the original post. Let's see.....
8 goals (2 SH)
= 17 points in 16 games.
+5 with 15 PIMs.
currently riding another 6 game point streak.
Considering the point of the original post was that he couldn't possibly keep these levels up...hes done a fine job in contradicting this....in fact he has increased his production even more so.
. . . to be honest, re-reading his original posts and follow-ups, I think the reason this thread didn't die is because J.R. came off as a condescending, arrogant know-it-all, bashed a player that no one really has a reason to dislike, and all but told everyone reading that they were idiots for not getting rid of Langenbrunner.
Also notice that he bumped his own thread the day after he made the initial post. Clearly he didn't want it to die. :)
What she said.
Personally, I like to revisit threads I've given advice in anywhere from a couple of weeks to a month down the road and see if I was spot on, or if I had my head so far up my a$$ I was looking out my belly button. Sometimes I'm right. Sometimes I'm wrong. Nothing wrong with getting called on it.
for that matter everyone on here that recommends the wrong guy to start or the wrong trade to except should all apologize then.
like i said.... no one knows for sure what will or wont happen on any given day to any player, team, etc...
so all advice is appreciated. it is your own opinion on if its good or bad & if you should take that advice. sometimes you take the advice & it works out & sometimes it doesn't.
bottom line - it's still YOUR call.
