Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
Guys, I am in 5th spot in my ROTO league, 12 pts behind the leader (its very tight this year in the standings). My main weakness is GOALS and PPG's. Here is my roster:
C - Malkin
LW - Booth
LW - Elias
RW - Backes (in the midst of picking up Gionta off the waiver)
RW - Pominville
D - Wideman
D - Keith
D - Kronwall
D - Timmonen
Utility - Langkow
Bench - Gomez
Kessel (IR, and it's killing me!)
The thing is, a guy at the bottom of the league has Jeff Carter. He'll deal him, but, Malkin has to be part of the package... Would you deal him if it meant getting CARTER in a deal?
Unless you can get a significant upgrade at LW or RW, keep Malkin. He'll have a strong second half and may finish pretty close to Carter in goals. Plus he contributes more to other categories as well. What are his LW? You could propose Malkin and Booth for Carter and _____.... But Carter's value is sky high at the moment so I doubt he's going to want to give up too much more.
you should hold onto Malkin, he had 47 goals last year. The pens are gonna turn things around and he will score more. Only deal him if you can get a proven goal scorer in return, not Carter who has only been scoring consistently this season and he has hardly any assists

Yeah...that's what I'm thinking. All along i've said that I will only deal Malkin if it meant getting Ovechkin. The guy that has Ovechkin is tough to deal with, and will likely want a king's ransom for him! Any suggestions from my roster on what I could propose for Ovechkin??
