Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
I'm trying to get Ovechkin from a guy and this is what I just offred him:
I give: Marleau, R.Blake, Giguere
I get: Ovechkin
What do you think will he take it??????? If you had Ovechkin would you take it?????
There are only 8 teams in this league and plenty of good FA's so getting a nice D and a pretty good G would not be to hard.
HERE IS MY TEAM
C Sidney Crosby
RW Jarome Iginla
C/LW Patrick Marleau
RW/LW Shane Doan
C Daymond Langkow
LW/C Pavol Demitra
LW Ray Whitney
RW Devin Setoguchi
D Scott Niedermayer
D Andrei Markov
D Kevin Bieksa
D Rob Blake
IR/D Ryan Whitney

I totaly agree with what you said, I do think I'm giving up to much but the thing is I'm in second and the team in first is preying on the weak teams and is friends with them, here is one of the deals that he got from a crapy team- He got Thornton and only gave up B.Richards and Osgood. And by the way Goalies are only about 30% of the scoring. This might be the only way I can get Ovechkin, also this is a keeper league and I would love to have Crosby, Ovechkin and Iginla for next year.

Unless he really likes Ovechkin he'll probably accept, but you are probably giving up too much considering Ove will get like 100-120 pts while Marleau will get like 80-100 pts, so you are adding like 20-30 pts for Giguere and Blake. I don't think it's really worth it. What G and D would you pick up to replace them?
C Scott Gomez
LW Alexander Ovechkin
LW Michael Cammalleri
RW Brad Boyes
RW Daniel Alfredsson
D Brent Burns
D Dennis Wideman
D Bryan McCabe
D Pavel Kubina
Util Marian Hossa
Util Todd White
BN Simon Gagne
BN Corey Perry
BN Henrik Sedin
D Mike Green
G Ilya Bryzgalov
G Niklas Backstrom
G Marc-Andre Fleury
HE COULD DROP KUBINA AND BRYZGALOV FOR THIS TRADE.
If it's an 8-team league then no. In such a small league where there are likely a lot of good free agents, a higher premium should be put on the best elite talent. Even if the other team decided to take the trade, once they realize they have to drop two players to make the trade work, they'll see that the two players they'd drop might be as good as the ones they're getting in return.
i think ur giving too much for Ovechkin
there is nooo way that there is a FA goalie better than Giguere..... or a FA d-man better than BLake?? i don't think so...
and Marleau looks like he's gonna score 90 points this year, so u might as well keep him i think
because even though u will get Ovechkin, u will lose out BIG TIME on ur goalie stats and d-man stats
i think u should keep wat u have...... just my opinion

I never said I could get any Goalie or Defence that was equal to Giguere or Blake I just said I could get some pretty good ones. I'm not real concerned about my D just cause Whitney is going to be back soon and the rest of my D is pretty strong and here are the FA Goalies= Toskala, Ward, Budaj, Clemmenson, and Macdonald. Yes I think Marleau will hit high 80's to low 90's but Ovechkin should bring 110 to 120.
