Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
I'm in a 12 team head to head keeper league. We keep our entire rosters from year to year. I'm trying to get myself a third starting goalie, and a good one at that rate. Price/Luongo/Lundqvist are the three I'm truly interested in. I've talked with the guy who has Lundqvist and been told that Lundqvist is only available if I trade Malkin. Can't get the guy that has Luongo to say much of anything. And unfortunately, the guy that has Price has no other goal-tending. But, I'll give you the rosters of each team, and you tell me if there's anything I can do. I'm not willing to trade Malkin. I'd rather not trade Hossa or Phaneuf, but if it'd get me one of these goalies, I'm willing to. And I'm slightly less adverse to trading Green or Perry than I am Hossa and Phaneuf, but also don't really want to trade 'em. You get the idea. I'm also not willing to trade Miller or Bryzgalov. All that stuff being said, and the rosters below, any ideas?

In order to get a top tier goalie you are going to have to make a big offer. I am learning that in my league right now. How about Miller and Perry for either Lund or Backstrom. Miller does not play for a solid team and I think he is overated. Also keep in mind that Lund and Backstrom start 80% of the time. I would keep Malkin and Hossa too. That trade earlier for D isn't needed.
this is the deal.. if u want lundquist, u gotta give him what he wants or needs
he wants malkin
he needs.. well nothing really.. maybe C, D or strong LW
but u dont have any LW to provide him so this is how it might work
You Give: Malkin and Visnovsky
You Get: Lundquist and Tanguay
thats prolly the best u can hope for.. and that might not go through still cuz even the other guy doesnt have any goalies.. ur better off than him

I'd hate to lose a left winger at this point.
With Morrow out for the season, if I traded Cammalleri, I wouldn't have jack on the left wing.
I've thought about Backstrom for a while now, considering he has Luongo and Smith. I'm not sure I want a goalie that's 30 years old though. I mean, aside from McCabe, Visnovsky and Demitra (who I just Samuelsson (who I got off of the FA list) for out of my desperate need for a LW) and Clemmensen (who I dropped Cogliano for in my need for a 3rd starter), there's not a guy over 30 on my roster. Well, actually, Jokinen turns 30 today. Happy birthday Olli. Feel better quick. Anyway, I'm quite proud of the fact that my team is so young.
Maybe Hemsky + Visnovsky for Backstrom?
