Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
Talking about a keeper league here.
Centers - Malkin, Jokinen, Pavelski, Cogliano
Left Wings - Morrow, Cammalleri, Carcillo
Right Wings - Hossa, Perry, Hemsky, Samuelsson
Defense - Phaneuf, Green, Visnovsky, McCabe, Seabrook.
Goalies - Miller, Bryzgalov, Pavelec
IR - Whitney, Williams
I'm thinking I may want to drop Seabrook and Carcillo.
Available left wings - Byfuglien, Hartnell, Burrows, Brunette, Voros, Boedker, Raymond, Brunnstrom
Available defensemen - Jovanovski, Byfuglien, Enstrom, Letang, O'Brien, Oduya, Mitchell, Edler, Gleason, Sbisa, Vlasic
So.... I figure if I grab Byfuglien for Seabrook, that gives me a few more points from a d-man, plus I can also play him at left wing once in a while. However, I'd probably lose out on some penalty minutes. But I also like O'Brien, Vlasic and Letang. If you had your choice, based on my current roster, who would you get and why?
And Carcillo has apparently been told to keep himself out of trouble. However, as far as PIMs go, this year in head to head, I'm 5-1-0. Tied for tops in the league. So, I'm also in a little bit of a spot here as well. I had Hartnell and dropped him for Carcillo earlier in the season, assuming that Carcillo would get me about 250 PIMs. Apparently, that ain't gonna' happen. Of the available left wings, which one do I want, and why?
Thanks very much.
For LW, I would dump Carcillo in a second as many said, without his PIM's he is worthless in turn I'd grab a young player like burrows or Raymond, I have no bias towards Van at all I'm from Toronto, They may not be smokin` right now but assuming your keeper league is going to continue on... I'd look for those boys to be tearing it up soon...
For D, I think I would also waive Seabrook for Vlasic. Definitely a more difficult decision, but beyond Chi's, Stacked 1st line Vlasic is on the sharks. Although he his on the 2nd PP line, he's still producing.
Disregard my opinion if you feel like you'll take too big of a hit in PIM's but you could still even argue with that, I wouldn't look past Burrows to hold is on in PIM's...
Hope your decisions work out for ya..
Carcillo for Burrows, Seabrook for Edler.... Burrows gets decent points, high pim, high plus minus.....as far as I know Carcillo just get pim's. I would also drop him for Raymond, Hartnell or Voros. As a canucks fan, Burrows is good, but he's pretty much gonna plateau from here...Raymond and Edler both have a huge upside...no matter what though, you should drop carcillo
i think that byfuglien is a good idea i believe he is also rw as well so u can rotate him well. as for hartnell i have him and while he isnt the greatest he is decent and the coach is pushing him to perform. he is also on a strong team and i believe plays with carter alot and carter is already showing signs of being a stud in the nhl
depends on what you need. i'm a big vlasic fan, and he plays second PP on the sharks and gets a TONNE of icetime. that being said, he definately will not solve your PIM problem, he wouldn't hurt a fly. voros gets PIM's yes but 7 of his 12 points came in the first 5 games, and then another 2 points came in 1 game 3 games later. burrows ia a nice option, but he doesn't get you PPP (but will get you points, along with a healthy PIM)
