Pominville, without a doubt. Absolutely ... completely.
Hossa's following is based on last year, and although things could get very productive for him in his new home, when's he coming back? Pominville has been Mr. Consistency in Buffalo - actually, the entire NHL.
No, he hasn't put as many points as Malkin or Ovechkin, but the guy has quietly pieced together a very nice season, and has only been held off the scoresheet twice in the last twenty games. That's two in twenty!
He's money in the bank right now, whereas Hossa is nothing right now, is he?
Here are some notable stats over the last 20 games:
Pominville: 11 G, 14 A, +8, 9 PPP, 8 PIM, 67 SOG
Hossa: 10 G, 8 A, -5, 10 PPP, 8 PIM, 76 SOG
Pominville has more assists and a better +/-. Everything else is very similar.
How then does everyone keep saying that the guy with fewer pts. (mostly assists) and a way worse +/- (who isn't even playing because he's injured) is the clear choice in this deal?
Pominville ... definitely.
