Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
I am looking to acquire some youth in my dynasty league. I am in a rebuilding year and looking to contend next season. I know my team is bad, but who would i need to trade to go younger. Looking to get anyone young and talented that will help my team. Who do i go for and what will it take to get him?
I inherited a dynasty team at the beginning of the year. If it means any thing, this team is ten times better than it was when i got it. Can you help?
Dynasty, Points yahoo league
Cats: G ,A ,P ,+/- ,PIM ,PPP ,SHP ,GWG ,W ,L ,GA ,SV ,SHO
C - Lecavalier, Kelly, Malhotra, Umberger, Conroy, Lindstrom(NA), Chipchura(NA), Prucell
W - Clarkson, Hagman, Havlat, Dumont, Hamilton, Tambellini(NA), Clark
D - Ranger, Niskanen, Martin, Greene, Meszaros, Jackman, Cumiskey, Pothier, Smid, Klein, Corrente(NA), Ward, Welch
G - Brodeur, Rinne(NA), Harding, Telqvist, Raycroft
honestly, it depend on ur league. i would have dropped hamilton and chipchura loong ago. and i have a 14 team league. and ur team isn't really all that terrible. just remember carrying any player with NA that isn't elite and isn't scheduled to return within a month is just a waste.
Honestly, it will take A LOT of shrewd moves and trades for you to compete next year...I don't think it's going to happen to be honest with you.
A big move that could really help would be to trade Brodeur for an abundance of good youth. Brodeur is arguably the best in the league, so you could move him to a contending team for a lot of young guys. Brodeur is getting old, he may only have a few more superstar years left...and I don't think your team can compete while he is still an elite goaltender.
It may be tough for you, but in the long run, this will benefit you greatly as Brodeur can command a lot of decent good, young players with big upside.
