So I am not desperate for this deal, but how could I get Luongo on my team????
try a 2 for 2 trade and offer one of your struggling goalies (Hasek most likely won't play nearly as much this year as before)
Also offer the other Sedin in exchange for luongo and a reasonable replacement for the foward
Don't trade away top talent for Luongo when you're sitting on Kipper!!! Dip into free agency for capable, underrated talent like Pascal Leclair or Garon or Price(short term). (Of course, assuming they are still available) Or, if your only trying to get your games in, Bryzgalov.
well if you are willing to give up Crosby for Luongo then I'd try bundling Emery and Crosby for Luongo and Sedin. Emery looks like he could be back on as backup, and has been injury prone this year, so basically you are getting Luongo and Sedin for Crosby if he takes it..
I would try to get Osgood and you prob wont have to pay as much for him allowing you to keep your team in tact.
Detroit is a monster. They have the best d in the league and wins are almost guaranteed when they play, if you have the tandem you're set.
Give him Emery and a center, maybe Spezza or Savard for Osgood.
Maybe throw in D but get one of his in return. I dont like Souray but he seems to have some value, try to get Kaberle or Timonen since they are more consistent and safer D men. If you want.
But go for Luongo at first then when he turns it down go for Osgood.
You'll pay alot for Luongo, but you have Kipper who hopefull will get it going soon.
If you want Loungo -hope his injury is a little more serious than originally thought, and that the other GM gets very nervous and dumps him cheap, otherwise you'll need to severely gut your roster to gain a great goalie on an average team.
If its a netminder you need - shoot for an average one on a tremendous team, the ratio of returns (player production lost versus what is gained) will probably be better because you didn't need to sell the farm and sacrifice your first born on the alter of the hockey gods to get him.
i would probably do a 2 for 2 deal in your case, trade either spezza or savard and hasek or emery for luongo and one of his centers, probably antropov or toews, i dont know how you got such good centers but you have good enough depth to do it
do you want to keep Kipper too? or can he be traded.
I'd say it would likely cost you a top RW... most likely St. Louis and he'll need a goalie in return, so at least Hasek, maybe Kipper.
i'd start with something like St. Louis and Hasek and see how he responds.
or you could try Crosby for Luongo straight up... depending on how bad you want luongo. like you said you don't need him, so you don't need to overpay, but if you really want him luongo is arguably the best goalie these days so you will have to make the offer tempting
